hello and welcome this video will show you how to manually add medication to medicare's email solution first navigate to email on the green bar orders on the blue bar and add to martha on the white bar add to mar is a five-step process step one select your resident step two select your prescriber step 3 select the med type step 4 fill in the order details and step 5 select your pharmacy source let's look at each step in more detail step 1 select your residence click on the icon in the middle of the screen and select your resident from the list step 2 select your prescriber choose the prescriber from the drop-down list leave the order date as today's date step 3 select your med type do you want the item to appear on the mar the medication administration record or the tar the treatment or topical administration record in this example i'm going to add this medication to the mar step 4 fill in the order details in the left hand box type in the name of the medication as an example i am adding omeprazole 20 mg capsules click on the search icon to search for and find the drug in the nhs dm d database there are two columns the prescribed name the drug name on the pharmacy dispensing label and the dispensed name the drug name on the medication packaging click here to move to the next page it is important that you pick the line from the list that matches the stock in front of you for example if i had the brand losec i would choose this line that has a meprazole as the prescribed name and lowsec as the dispensed name if i have the generic medication i should choose the line that has a meprazole in both columns be sure to choose the correct form for example capsules instead of tablets if in doubt choose the generic name from both the prescribed name and the dispensed name columns a box pops up displaying the resident's allergies so that you can check you are not adding anything they are allergic to click ok to proceed if appropriate the strength amount and unit will auto populate from the item you selected if the item does not have a strength for example a catheter enter a zero the total dispensed amount is the quantity that you have you must count and not rely on the amount written on the dispensing label in this example i have 28 capsules so i will enter 28 into the box only enter numbers in this box choose the frequency from the drop down list this is how often the resident will take that medication read the instruction on the dispensing label in this example it is take one daily so i will choose once daily from the drop down list the time pre-populates but i can change it to any time required for that resident...
