hey guys welcome back to the channel and today i'm going to be showing you how to create a video production contract and contracts are really important to make sure that both parties know exactly what they're doing you can have talent release contracts ndas which i'll go into a little bit more depth about as well as well as just your general business terms and condition type contracts along with your retainers and things like that so don't let this overwhelm you i'm going to explain it in loads and loads of details so make sure you stay until the end to get the full advantage of this video if you're a freelancer from any other industry this will still work for you too i have a video production company myself as well as two other businesses so i know a thing or two when it comes to writing contracts i must say though i'm not a lawyer so if you are really paranoid and you want to go and get this stuff checked out then by all means go and pay a lawyer a couple of thousand pounds to do so but contracts don't need to be over complicated i'm sure you've read many contracts in your life and you think i don't understand most of this stuff and you don't need to create something that's super complex and i'm going to show you exactly what works for us things that we're using right here in the studio today so without further ado let's jump over to the computer and i'll get straight into it okay so effectively a contract is really just saying what you promise to do and then in return what you're going to receive and that's the best way of looking at it and when you break it down into that very simple structure very kind of child-like what are you promising to do and then what are they promising to do in return and that's all it is it's just to document exactly what's happening so that's why i say don't let this stuff overwhelm you it doesn't need to be and the first type of contract that we're going to have a quick look at is something that we would use for a business to business transaction so we might be doing some film work for a client we might sign them up on on to some kind of content plan or something like that but i'm just going to outline exactly what that looks like now you could obviously put your logo at the top or something like that you know make it look really fancy and what have you we don't really need to do that right now but um we'll put that in here so you'll have the logo make it look all professional right underneath it as well what kind of contract it is so this might be a business services contract and then you can put in...
