hello guys and welcome back to my channel i am kimmy b and in today's video i'm going to be telling you guys how to land a government job going through the process of what it's like to apply for the job all the way to the interview process and what to also look for and know and whether or not you will get the interview or you will not get the interview so before we go ahead and get into today's video if you have not already please subscribe to my channel don't forget to like this video comment in the comment section let me know what you thought about this video and also turn your post notifications so that you can get notified every time i upload a video and let's get into the process of applying for a government job so if you are new to my channel i am a macro social worker i do work in the federal government i have been working in the government this coming march will be six years total first thing i want to say applying for a government job you have to be patient you're not going to apply and then get a job within 60 days i'm just being honest it could take up to a year for you to get a government job so if you're someone who you are not in the government and you really want to get into the government you need to be patient so what i would recommend is to find another job at a private industry company and work that job temporarily until you get the government job because the process does not happen overnight so the first thing you want to do with usajobs.gov when you go to usajobs.gov this is what i would recommend to narrow down your options your screen it has different type of categories for different type of people so the ones that i recommend if you are not in the government is to click the open to the public if you are a recent graduate i would definitely click recent graduate even if you are student i will also click student because sometimes they do have internships or jobs available for students while they are in college so those are the main three that i would click once you click those then you can put in your job title so you know the specific type of job that you want to do put that in and it'll tell you what is available also if you live in a smaller city i live currently in a big city i live in baltimore so if you live in a smaller city you have to understand the likelihood of jobs being available in your city is slim to none but what you can do is you can also select your location there's the option for you to select your location and you can type in location and this...
