[Music] hello there mark cunningham here and in this video you're going to learn how to create and send a customer invoice in xero now in this lesson i use the australian version of xero's demo company but the principles are pretty much the same in any country's version so you can follow along no matter which version of xero you're using i'll also point out that i do cover a fair bit of ground in this video which is why it's such a long lesson and i should also point out that this video is part of a full course on xero so if you'd like to learn more check out the links in the description below so let's jump into xero now and get started so from the main dashboard here there's a few different ways you can do it the first way is that you can actually just click on this new sales invoice button here in the invoices section on the dashboard another way is you can go to the quick link at the top here so just click on the plus sign and then click on invoice and you'll get taken straight to the invoice template screen and then another way is you can go to the business drop down menu and you can go into invoices or sales overview and on those pages you'll see those new invoice buttons that we saw earlier on in the course so i'll just go through to the invoices screen and then from here it doesn't matter what what tab you're on you can just click on the new invoice button at the top and you end up here at the new invoice template all right so let's have a look at each of the things that we need to do in order to create our new invoice so the first thing we need to do is actually choose our customer so if we click on the to box there you can just start typing the name of your customer so if i type a for example it brings up a list of customers from our contacts that have the letter a in them so if you want to get more exact than that so let's just say we do a b that cuts out a lot of the list and then we've got abc furniture there at the top abpa etc if you have a brand new customer that's not in the list yet you can just start typing the name so let's just say we do said e for example so if we've got a customer that starts with the letters said e you can see that we don't have anything in our existing contacts so all you need to do is type the full name of that customer so let's just say it's zelda and then you can click on add new contacts and it will add add the contact in here for you and...
