can see that it's showing the cost and the information about the equipment as you go through the screens if the system requires a pad if it requires a filter system a thermostat a humidifier a line set now you can select extra parts to add to your proposal using the add and remove buttons when available a picture of the item will be shown in the middle we'll add a gas some mastic and sight glass on the labor rate screen you can select labor charges that you have a flat rate for in this example the company charges $900 for a furnace install and has other flat rate charges for changing the evaporator coil and changing the condenser unit you can now hit finish and you'll have a complete proposal your customer data is saved to your computer so you can access that customer again later now if you need to add more information to your proposal that wasn't in the wizard you can click directly on the form to enter this information we need to add a custom plenum so we'll just click on the form and type the information in the pricing totals will update as we update the equipment we're also going to add a plenum return anytime you need to add something extra to the form you can just click it and type directly on it you can see we had an error I'm forgetting to write plenum supply we'll just click on it to fix it now we need to save our proposal as a chick file this is the type of file that proposal writer 2012 reads and writes we can also save it as a PDF at this point to print or email it to our customers and just to have a digital copy however for now I'm going to go back and add in some proposal details here you can use a drop-down box to select something that you might have on all or most your your proposals such as a warranty or a company policy once again you can also just click directly on the form to enter something more custom in this example we are letting the customer know that the Attic needs to be clean and the staircase needs to be replaced before we can start the job this is something that would only be written for this particular job and now we're picking another preset proposal detail from the list we're going to save our work again and just overwrite the old file we saved a few moments ago the program lets us know we were successful we can now also save it as a PDF that will now contain both the proposal and proposal details you can view it with Adobe Reader and now you can just check over your work before sending it to your customer okay let's exit this and go back to proposal Rider 2012 this time we'll go to the invoice tab once the job is finished it's easy to copy the information from the proposal to the invoice and make changes as necessary now we're going to make some changes only to the invoice here the invoice was done a week later than the proposal so we changed the date the customer also needed a discount so we changed the price on some of the labor now we can sign and date our invoice we'll save it as a chick file and just overwrite the old file we can also save it as a PDF once again you can select which tabs you want to have saved you can now look over your invoice and double-check all of the information now we can go to the job cost tab this tab gives us some information about the profit and real costs of the job as you can see some of the information is already filled out based on the other tabs we can add additional cost by clicking directly on the form here we paid John Smith four hundred and fifty dollars for being a subcontractor now we'll save the file as a chick again so we can open it at a later date in proposal writer 2012 now we'll save all of the tabs as a PDF all of our paperwork has been completed we can double check that everything is correct and it is now prepared to be emailed
