you thanks for coming on this week's podcast this week we're going to talk about setting up specific targeted areas on your Facebook ad as most do you know Facebook advertising has become a really good way to generate leads it gives you the ability to set up an ad that's going to go out to people on Facebook but more importantly it can be very targeted you can target them by their age their location their interests and today what we're going to review is how to set up targeting by location and pretty much there's three things you can do that are pretty simple so you'll come into the audience area and you'll see the locations area see this little map and right above it you can kind of type in your target so the first thing you can do is you can just target by state so let's just say we want to type in California we can select California and it'll select everybody pretty much in California to see your ad now of course you can target them by age and other types of targeting but we're just worrying about location right now so that's that's option one is do the whole state option two is you can do you can do a city in a city or a town in the state and you'll see the Facebook will let you put kind of a radius around the center of that area so right now we have 25 miles certainly from San Francisco that's option two and that obviously allows you to target people you know in a distance from your office then option three is you actually have the ability to target people by specific zip codes and one of the things I hear a lot you know a lot is that agents are looking to target either wealthy individuals or local low income individuals it's hard to do that by typing in a city or a state but certainly the zip code might give you a higher probability of reaching your target so what you want to do is click the add locations in bulk below the map and you'll see that Facebook allows you to now select by you know obviously gives you a few options but most importantly post codes so you can go in here and you can type in you know as many zip codes as you want and Facebook will find those locations and anybody who's in Facebook who has entered their address and put that zip code in the advertisement is going to go to so hopefully this was insightful again these Facebook ads is targeting that's the beauty of it Facebook knows that information about the people because when you set up your profile you're putting in this information and this allows us to target you know our target market and you know hopefully allows us to efficiently spend the money that we're marketing and I think...
