good evening america welcome and thank you for joining us here tonight as we take on the great debate a biblical a scientific and a philosophical look into answering that age-old question when does human life begin tonight on this episode of the first branch as we begin tonight's episode i understand that people from all walks of life have differing views of when human life begins every one of us has different influences in our lives that cause us to draw the conclusions that we have on this topic so tonight i want to look at the three main sources of influence that affect our decision making with those three main influences being a judeo-christian or a biblical worldview the scientific worldview or academic and then the perspective from philosophy then i'm going to answer the of when we post new content to this channel so can a government or even still should a government even bother to answer the question of when life begins and the answer to this is well it depends because most of life's difficult answers start with it depends if a government has declared it's responsible for preserving life and liberty and promoting the general welfare of its citizens then it is obligated to define the scope of those protections if a country is determined it has no place in these affairs then they have no authority to determine when life begins and since our two primary founding documents make it very clear that the sole purpose for our independence as a nation was to secure and preserve life and liberty as well as promote the general welfare it is of utmost concern to us to know whom these rights extend so most definitely we need to have a law that establishes when life begins we here in america have been arguing this point from the wrong foundation the current basis of this argument has always been whether abortion should be outlawed when all that needs to be established is when human life begins and what protections are needed to preserve those individual rights we don't need to outlaw abortion we just need to state when an abortion is no longer an available option to a pregnant mother all the while not denying a woman's body autonomy the bill that i'm about to present will do just that provide an answer to when biblically scientifically and philosophically life begins what is going to be most revealing is just how in agreement these three disciplines actually are the issues we've been having are in the personal desire to exert our own individual beliefs onto someone else but when we take a look at natural law we see just how it satisfies the questions these three influences have generated i'm going to start by reading the purpose of the bill and then we're going to jump down to the protections offered by the bill so let's dive right into it so the purpose of this bill number one is to establish the legal definition of when human life begins number two is to protect li the life of the mother as well as the life of the unborn child and that is why this is called a right to life bill and not an anti-abortion bill and number three reinforces this idea to allow medical professionals the liberty to to discuss treatment options with their female patients when the life of the mother or the life of the unborn child is compromised number four is the overarching theme of this legislation the author's original intent if you will to allow for grace and understanding towards all women of the united states who are faced with the difficult decision of carrying a child to term when an act of violence is thrust upon them without their consent this bill is a compassionate one designed to care for the mother as well as the child while preserving the sanctity of human life up until the airing of this episode there has been no mention of compassion by any person from any of the other three prevailing social influences that i mentioned earlier as a christian i know the way that we do things is just as important as the why so let's take a look at the protections offered by this bill now for you the audience if you see something that i miss or i fail to include please let me know and as long as it complies with the theme of this bill i'll add it the point of this and what this channel does is to get the american people engaged in the legislative process again so please let me know in the comments below if there's anything i missed the first protection is this no member of congress shall exempt themselves from the authorities written in this law they shall in no way use their position of authority to access unauthorized abortions prohibited by this law if you haven't noticed a theme yet in the bills that i've submitted i don't believe congress in no way whatsoever should ever allow to exempt themselves from the laws that they enact on our behalf ever and number two abortion procedures or medical procedures that when used properly provide a means for physicians to protect the life of the mother this law protects a physician's right to recommend these procedures as a viable option when discussing treatment plans to save the life of the mother in the event of an emergency this protection also applies when a physician determines the continued pregnancy would have a greater than 50 percent chance of resulting in the death of the mother or of the unborn child it's going to be at this point that christians are going to present the greatest pushback against this law my response is a simple one shame on you for lacking the compassion when a mother is under the stress of having to make the decision of whether or not her child should live or die and the third protection when an abortion procedure is performed by an authorized physician a complete revelation as to the medical condition of the mother and or child a summary or a summarized transcript rather of the discussion with the mother concerning the need for the procedure and a written authorization will be required to justify the legal termination of the unborn child in case of an emergency the physician need only provide documentation as to the nature of the emergency the reason for the procedure and then the procedure used and the fourth protection this bill provides is if it is determined that the unborn child has developed a physical or mental abnormality that is not life-threatening then that child's life is protected under the authority of this law this law is a compassionate one and is meant to preserve life yet it still provides pregnant mothers with treatment options in the case of life-threatening medical issues now that we've discussed the theme and the protections offered by this bill let's get to the heart of the matter and answer the question when should an unborn child be considered a human life i'm just going to read the actual verbiage as stated in the proposed legislation the definition of when life begins can be stated as when blood enters the embryo this action does not occur until 10 days after sexual intercourse therefore once 10 days has elapsed from a woman's last sexual encounter an abortion procedure or any other procedure that is proposed to end the life of an unborn child shall not be performed during the 10-day period of initial development of the fertilized egg this growth process shall not be considered to be a human life any and all procedures to terminate further growth of the zygote to prevent its continued development is authorized by consent of the patient her medical care provider and her physician this law really is that simple what has been complicating it is our own personal wants wishes and interpretations of our own beliefs so let's strip away the personal biases and our own beliefs and look at the truth the truth that is written in natural law established by nature's god so let us begin by looking at the current christian worldview to see why they are not correct or consistent with their beliefs towards when life begins those who espouse judeo-christian values say that life begins at conception but is this statement consistent with what is written in scripture well the quick and simple answer is no not even close yep you heard that right the christian community has got it all wrong what evidence do i have to prove this well it's written in the bible and leviticus 17 11 states for the life of the flesh is in the blood and i have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul god is not only telling us that it is the blood that makes life he's telling us why he did it because he has chosen it to be the medium by which redemption takes place and that is through the shed blood of jesus christ and if that isn't enough for you to believe let me offer a few more scripture references to reinforce this truth when the lord confronted cain after he had killed abel how did god tell cain he knew abel was dead he said the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground what was it that cried it was his blood also the entire book of leviticus states that when innocent blood is shed the accused is guilty of the blood this is god our creator speaking those with a judeo-christian worldview failing to recognize god's determination on when life begins has caused us to eliminate the reason he placed life in the blood to show others the redemption of our savior because i mentioned god and christ in this presentation i need to restate this bill does not violate the separation of church and state this law in no way requires anyone to change their belief nor does it establish christianity as a state recognized religion this is merely my personal acknowledgement of christianity and its presence in our society due to this understanding it is also an acknowledgment that our creator has established the truth and natural law so even if one rejects the idea of god in christ natural law can serve as the foundation of human life beginning when blood is introduced into the embryo so what is the one catalyst for the growth of human organs that's blood skin the largest organ of the human body will not form without the presence of blood my heart lungs liver any other organ in the human body will never grow until the blood is applied and stimulates cellular growth of the human organs the things that make the zygote human will never form if blood is not present so using the morning after pill or any other medication or procedure to prevent the growth of the zygotes development into a human fetus is not taking a human life and therefore it should not be restricted when one takes the position in this debate from a christian's perspective those with a more philosophical personal motivation just dismiss this point of view as well i don't believe in god or any other deity therefore your argument has no moral authority to tell me when life begins and i can kind of sort of agree with this response i mean i certainly don't want any other church say like the mormon church or the catholic church or even a jewish synagogue telling me how to behave i'm neither one of those religions so why should i listen to them i choose to give god the glory for what is written in natural law so when a philosophical skeptic sees the scientific evidence their response tends to be much more aggressive they invoke emotionally charged scenario-based questions and attempt to raise a reasonable doubt all for the sole purpose of just crushing your argument and kind of winning the day but remember earlier in the episode i told you i was going to show you how this law would prove these three social influences were in complete agreement so i'm going to answer those gotcha questions by applying them to the 10-day model so let's just start with the granddaddy of them all forced sexual acts by a stranger or family member this scenario usually begins with an innocent young woman caught up in a precarious situation she can't seem to find a way out of then they proceed to describe in graphic detail the horrors this poor woman has to endure then just when you think things couldn't get any worse the young lady discovers she's pregnant this burden forced upon her against her will who are you man without a uterus to tell this woman she has to carry this baby to term the true answer is i have no authority to tell that woman she has to carry that baby to term but as a society who has laws of behavior i can certainly say definitively when life begins how can i do this because science that's how and from the day that the crime had been committed against her until the tenth day she has the liberty to seek medical attention and have that pregnancy terminated you see this law in no way denies a woman's right to choose and to add to that truth this law doesn't even limit the procedure to be used the doctor will be required to document what procedure was used but the determination of the procedure is between the patient and the doctor end of story so this usually is followed up with an additional question like but what if it was a family member that committed the the offense well then the same rules apply she would then have 10 days to access the same care options available to the ones we just mentioned in the previous scenario but what if her family keeps her hostage one might ask then she wouldn't have access to any treatments at all not even the sanctioned abortions abortions of today so it is a moot point and it would not be me nor the law denying her it would be her captors forcing her to carry the baby to term and we already have laws on the books to punish people for kidnapping and false imprisonment now let's look at this law from the protection of the fetus standpoint when one acts in a reckless or dismissive manner a man and a woman go on a date and they decide they want to share in a consensual night of intimate passion the night goes almost as plain because they were caught up in the moment neither of them had the foresight to bring some sort of birth control measure with them yet they continued to consent knowing that they were taking a chance on getting pregnant fast forward 14 days and the woman in question well she's late and so she runs off to the nearest pharmacy to get a pregnancy test and does discover that she's pregnant this law would then require her to carry the baby to term had this scenario happen and this proposed bill was the law of the land they could participate in the consensual act and then she would have ten days to to seek medical attention to attend to that unwanted pregnancy now that right there is the statement that's going to cause christians to lose their heads they're going to shout how dare you say that a woman has the right to be irresponsible and reckless i will never support this bill on the grounds it will give unmarried couples a license to sin i just simply refuse well you have the right to feel that way but as the king commentator of them all says ben shapiro the truth doesn't care about your feelings and the truth is this i'm not the one who gave it to them i'm not the one who wrote it god is the one who's granted them this liberty who do you think you are and by what authority do you think you have to take it away from them and then he made it clear by writing this in natural law so there's that i told you at the beginning of this episode i was going to show you how this law was in complete agreement with the three primary social influences on this topic it is written in scripture it is validated by natural law and it answers every question from every scenario posed by those who espouse a philosophical worldview so there you have it america an answer to
