Add initialized phone

hey guys how's everybody doing because my last voice over IP phone video was so successful I mean it gets like 100 views per day right now what I have here is something really nice though it's like a little bit of the opposite and what I showed you before and that's like a Yealink DECT IP Phone and uh why don't we do like a little bit of an unboxing of this and what you kind of can see right off the bat that this has like just like this really kind of like more like business client kind of packaging very plain very simple not much going on here compared to this standard desk phone version that I was using previously so I mean I understand some people might prefer a desk phone and someone else might prefer like a more like a wireless solution so that's why I'm showing you the wireless solution today so let's unbox this and yeah the version that I have here is the W60P and I can zoom in for you a little bit of course I had to like cover like the serial number and stuff but yeah essentially I can also show that to you here Yealink has like a wireless IP phone on the market for quite some time they have like a range of those and actually the W60P is like the newest one so that's why I wanted to show you this so let's have a look inside and yeah basically the difference between this is that it has like the new base station the W60B base station and the W56H cordless DECT handset and basically what they did they just upgraded the base station and made it like a little bit gave it like a little bit of a refresh and I like this a lot so yeah that's why I want to show it to you yeah if you have looked around online you probably found a couple of videos already that show you this phone like i said it's kind of nicely made it has like this dedicated transfer button right here and yeah I like the build quality if you want you can also check out my channel I have like also like voice German voice over IP phones if you prefer those a couple of reviews of those and yeah but let's go ahead and put this together and it's also I'm gonna show you how to configure this as well um one thing that's different it has like a really nice battery right here and yeah if you look at it this speaker right here that also looks kind of interesting I've never seen something like this before and it says it here in the case it has like a 1460 mAh lithium-ion battery with it yeah but the point is like why I found this like more attractive I mean I bought that for 150 European currency why I found this attractive is because of this newly designed base station which is supposedly better performing than the previous one and yeah I mean it's really kind of like nice slim and specifically wall mountable base station so what else is inside the box let's have a look they give you a network cable and yeah like I told you is the the kind of nice thing about this is it's wall mountable so you can kind of like put this everywhere or of course you can also use the how do you say charging cradle and ya see here the charging cradle is USB let's take this out real quick so you do have a charging cradle that's USB powered you have a nice lithium ion battery then you have also like power supply for the base station just in case you don't have power over ethernet I mean like if you like more in a corporate setting of course I mean you can I already showed you like power over Ethernet is like a really convenient solution but if you like more in a home office kind of setting you might want to just use this on your desk and for this you just attach that how do you say base station stand right here and then you can just put this on your desk like so put the network cable in or position it somewhere close to your router so Yealink really gives you like a flexibility of options and like I said with my previous phone there was no power supply included here you have a power supply included so that's very nice so essentially what I'm gonna do right now is I'm just gonna plug this into the network and power it up and then I'm gonna show you how to configure it it may be a little bit like off the menu and the sounds that are in here because that's kind of like interesting and that's why you're here right and yeah guys one thing you basically can do if this really cool base station is you can just plug in the network cable here at the bottom and connect it via power over ethernet directly and then put it onto your wall and then yeah maybe to illustrate this real quick I'm just gonna put in the power Ethernet cable and then put this on the wall right here and yeah I mean if you have a method to like nice and neatly put the cable there you can already see why this is a kind of popular solution to use yeah wireless voice over IP phone system that you can just with one cable like you can position this at a really nice if you have like a bigger area that maybe like you have a warehouse or like a big office you can put this kind of base station at a really good spot where you have like a coverage throughout the whole business and I found that to be super useful and just to give you an example I'll have like a postcard here like a small postcard that's about the size of a postcard in fact it's even like a little bit smaller than the postcard so it's not even taking up that much space so I really like the solution so yeah so yeah basically what I did for you guys I brought that network cable here to my desk and connected this to my gigabit network and also the power so let's plug this right in and see whether it boots up and yeah power is there see what happens whether the network light flashes in a second or so okay guys my switch was not plugged in because I did something with the cabling but you see now network is connected as well and uh yeah now we gonna put the battery let's put the battery into the phone and now we have a solid light so what that means it's probably fetched the IP address via the DHCP right directly from the internet router so wow that's kind of really tight here okay uh let's get this out let's have a like a little bit closer look at the battery so you see like that looks very much like a cell phone like cell phone battery so maybe they borrowed that from cell phone technology putting this in right here put the case on oh it makes a sound already initializing data and it's initialized the data and apparently it pulled let's see whether that is correct now it has the right day day and month already the time maybe that maybe needs a little bit to synchronize usually you can configure the base station so that it fetches the the time data from like a from a server so maybe the best thing to do right now is just jump into the computer and then I'm showing you how to configure this via your browser via the web interface that's in this base station and so yeah guys like I told you it's also written in the manual to access the phone basically what you should do is because you don't know the IP address off the phone since the IP address puts that since the phone pulls IP address automatically you just I mean this if you are experienced with local area networks and voice over IP you probably won't need this tutorial right now but for beginners I'm just gonna quickly give them like an overview so basically what you would do is you would log into your router in my case it's a tp-link and you just type the IP address of your router that's something you probably should know by now any how do I explain this real quick that's something you should know and if you don't know the IP address of your router chances are you probably wouldn't buy a phone like that but you can always look up the IP address of your router by going to your network settings and it will say router and yeah on Windows it's kind of the same thing because your computer in that sense works the same way as your phone it just pulls the IP address via a DHCP request and then puts this information in here so just type the IP address of your of your router that you have or your how do you say that cable modem or whatever is the applicable thing in the US like in Europe we have this like VDSL it's called so and then you log into the router and yeah guys surprise surprise it's all in German who would have thought but I trust you kind of get the idea the the basic thing you just go to advanced and then you go to your network and yeah basically what you do you go to local area network settings in somewhere inside your router there will be a list of the IP addresses the router handed out and what you want to copy down is in this case you look for your voice over IP phone and in this case it's the W60B and here you see the IP address that it got and if you type that IP address into your web browser you can access the phone and configure it and one trick you also can use you can permanently assign when when your network device in this case the voice over IP phone sends a request to your router it does so with the with a so-called MAC address so you can just look what devices are registered and then if you want to have the router always assign the same IP address you can just configure a rule inside your router by copying the IP address out of this pool up here you see my network right now it's like seven clients and then put it in here so that's like you see like it says 100 that's my old desktop-based IP phone and now I'll just configured a new rule with the mac address from the voice of IP Phone and now every time I switch on the voice over IP phone instead of getting a random address from the router via the DHCP request it will always the phone will request it with the MAC address and the router knows ok here's the rule and so what that basically allows you is when you type the address of the base station now we see gogin DECT base W60 and I think the default password is admin admin wait a second now you can save that for example in your keychain and because it's always the same IP address you don't always have to type in the password because it's it saves in a keychain correctly it's always the same IP so and you don't have to look it up every time you just remember I remember you just remember it's the IP address you chose that you programmed in the router so yeah that that's how I like to do it or of course you could switch off DHCP altogether and assign a static IP address to your phone but I prefer the other method because I feel it gives me a little bit more flexibility if I should change for example my router anyhow the next thing that you might want to check is you go to settings and time and date and then you just switch the timezone I mean it it right now it pulls the time from like a Chinese time server and what I want to do is I would just want to change this to my time zone in this case Germany and pick Berlin and then maybe what you also could do is like change the primary time server to someone that's in your geographic location yeah and for that you just go to NTP dot org and they have like a public time server list and you click on the time server list and then for example you could pick one that's located in Europe right here and maybe you already see this down you can just pick any country so maybe make sure to pick a time server from your country and then copy and paste that back in here and you see the only change thing that changed is like the almost like the the top the domain the domain ending like dot com for the US or in my case it's like de and then basically on depending on your preference you can have like the Europeans kind of style like the 24-hour or you can have like this twelve our style of AM PM or pic how the date is displayed personally I like year month and day and then I'm just gonna confirm that and update this real quick and say yeah guys you can already see it updated the way I choose to display my I mean I like to choose year month and day because like that's more like the computer style and also the time is nicely updated so yeah I mean it works really fine it pulls the data right here and then let's just set up the voice over IP provider real quick and yeah I like to set up voice over IP with an external provider basically what I like to do is I'm just using Sonetel of course there are probably better services out there but they're also more pricey so and actually my other videos someone left a comment ... a bad comment a negative comment about Sonetel which I don't really understand why they would do that for some reason it didn't work for them but I mean I'm using it for quite some time now and I'm just happy with it so essentially what you need to do is when you are logged into your phone which my session expired so I have to log in again you can register wow you can register up to five accounts like that's a lot my old phone only supported my desk phone the Yealink desk phone voice over IP phone only supports three accounts so this has even five accounts so they stepped it up a notch with this cordless voice over IP phones so yeah you have to put in your account data here and you have to put it in correctly if you're making mistake putting the data in here it will not work properly or you will have some kind of trouble so that's why I'm showing this to you right now and yeah like I told people in my other tutorial it's really no rocket science just go to the Sonetel help section and visit the help topics and of course that you have to do a little bit of digging it's like not obvious like right away but they have like a section down here sip and that's basically what you use it's a session how do you call this ... session initiation protocol or something like that you go on that section and they have like a question here what sip phones can i connect and yeah you click on that and basically they did all the work for you they list a variety of phones and they also list a desktop phones I mean Yealink phones but of course it doesn't have to be a desktop phone the configuration it's a Yealink it's kind of like the same and then you just take the data that's they give you here and then maybe I just show this to you side by side because that's really how you should do this if we have never done this before we just look okay this is like a step-by-step process how to configure this voice over IP phone you go to the account step this is correct and then you select accounts 1 to 5 as 1 to 6 so basically account just means like line 1 line 2 line 3 line 4 line 5 right it's a 5 line phone and yeah in my case I just want to line one to be enabled and i'm calling this u.s. because my phone number that I have is US and yeah that's literally how easy it is I mean if you if you're doing this the first time it might be a little bit confusing but that's exactly why I'm making this video and that's also exactly why I'm showing you this these configurations examples here one small thing that you might want to consider when choosing to set up a voice over IP account with Sonetel and then putting it into your phone is um in my case I have like a preference for the naming the way I want this to be named as label I usually pick US so I know okay this is my us phone number that I really registered very affordably to Sonetel and then as display name I like to have the extension that's like extension 101 and for example and if you imagine that would be like if you have a business it would be like for example extension 101 is the sales department so when you register a user in the Sonetel interface the way you would do that is you would just create a user and I named this user line one with obviously extension 101 and then I use an email for that and the email is sales at my company comm so that when I'm interacting with the phone and it doesn't matter whether it's like the DECT voice over IP Phone or whether it's a Yealink desk voice over IP phone that's what I found works the best and yeah maybe just watch my other video then maybe maybe you see that when it's in an interface and once I click Save I maybe can look up whether this also shows up correctly in the how do you say hand handset the important part is like you I mean you can change it afterwards even if it's not perfect no big deal the important part is like to enable the stun server input like the the right outbound proxy and the right server server host in here and you should be all set so what I'm going to do now is I'm going to click confirm and we jump back to the phone and yeah maybe a good idea is like to do a little bit of side-by-side comparison so this is the old desk phone and you kind of already see maybe I can push a button here so that the light shows up um I hope that this is clearly visible that the naming that I used is US here and let's say I do call star 21 then here you should have the first part of your email address I mean right now it shows my name but that's where you should have sales and then at my company dot com so that would be a little bit more orderly ... and maybe I can end this right here but basically you see this is like a three line phone and this has five lines and in naming is like slightly different and once I take it out of the station you see that the display changes a little bit and then I feel like the line button right here and again it shows line one but here that's why you should register the user account with sales at my company com because then I would say line 1 sales and you would know automatically line 1 it's extension 101 so you don't have a mess going on if if you have like a company with an office full of people with sales department service department maybe accounting and so on so make sure you organize your user accounts appropriately and use the right email to register that way it will ... a audible sound for charging and that way you will have like like a little bit of an organized system going on right here and maybe we can look at the phone while we're at a little bit settings audio maybe I have a look at the ringtones okay you kind of get an idea it's it sounds a little bit different than the desk phones um but usually I know with the desk phones you even have the ability to upload your own sounds I wouldn't be surprised if you can do the same thing here and settings for the display I mean that's probably a little bit too much to go through um what I'm gonna do now is I'm just gonna dial star 21 it's kind of like a Sonetel kind of thing just putting in the extension ... and now you see my desk phone is ringing over here and that would be the internal call yeah so that's about it and yeah one thing you see like it also has like this backlit display so that's actually kind of fairly nice um I like it so far but maybe I'm gonna do a little bit more testing and then I also have some other phones coming up soon that I'm going to review so make sure to check this out and if you have any questions about these Yealink phones or about Sonetel just leave me a comment and I will get back to you soon I already did like answer video from a viewer question and that was also really useful because the guy had like two line phones but he actually had like three numbers and he asked me about how to set it up and I answered that for him and I mean I'm not guaranteeing you that I'm gonna give you all the answers some things might be too complicated but if I know what answer I'm gonna make a response video if I can and yeah check out the other videos and stay tuned for my fancy digital door lock review as well because I like this a lot check this out this digital door lock so obviously your bank account will empty itself rapidly if you buy all these nifty gadgets with that the only thing left to do is to hit that subscribe button and become part of the global create success tv community maybe by enrolling in one of my online training courses that teach you how to become successful in the digital age because one thing I really feel really strongly about I really think most people the majority of people are missing this trend of YouTube online business Facebook marketing and all this affiliate marketing madness and if you haven't checked out this Pat Flynn guy and his smart passive income podcast just google smart passive income I think dot com and check out the in monthly income reports and you're gonna get the shocker of your lifetime I mean 100 thousand dollars per month I mean I couldn't believe my eyes and I was really asking myself what the heck did I go to business school for while people with podcasts and YouTube make like that kind of money and I'm gonna teach you that in my online course so make sure to enroll take care!
