- [Burch] Hi, this is Burch Kealey. Thanks for joining me. In this video, I'm going to demonstrate to you the process on how to validate your license so you can access the newest version of our application on AppStream. As I explained in my earlier email to you, this new version of the application will be available beginning Monday, January 4th, at eight a.m. For you to access the application, you're going to have to use the license token. You're gonna have to go through this process. So before you begin the process, make sure that you have a license token file available to you. I will be emailing it to you on January 1st or January 2nd. If you haven't received it, please send me an email because you cannot go any further without having access to the license file. You can see in this case, my license file is named UNOmaha.txt. The file that you receive will have some form of your university name as part of the abbreviation. If you're curious about what it looks like, feel free to open up the file and look at it. It's simply the word token, a space, and a hexadecimal value that is unique to your university. Please don't make any modifications to this file. So what we're going to do is we're actually going to go through this process to validate it. It's important for you to understand you're only gonna have to do this one time and by asking you to do the validation rather than having us upload the license file to your individual session, we're able to preserve everything that's unique about your experiences on AppStream so far. So let's get started. I'm gonna actually pause the video, get logged in, and get us to the place where we're going to have to use the license file. So I've logged in, I'm gonna select the EDGAREngine application and I'm gonna go ahead and stop the video or pause the video again while this process gets ready. So we're logged in, and unfortunately we have this error message. This is no problem. Before we do anything with this error message, let's go ahead and transfer the license file up to the application. If you go up to the control bar on the browser and select files, you'll have a choice of two folders. You only need this license file one time, so I'm just gonna put mine in the temporary files folder, so I'm gonna click on that. If you've used this before, you know that to transfer files all we need to do is drag it over. The file's available now inside the application, so I'm gonna go ahead and close this. Now I'm gonna hit the okay button, the options license maintenance view comes up. I'm going to browse to and select my license file. I'm lucky I've been practicing this a few times. If it doesn't open in this folder, you just have to navigate to it. So again, let me get back to that folder. I'm gonna open that folder, I'm gonna select that license file, and once I've selected it, I'm gonna click on open. Okay? The file is now loaded in the options menu. I want to press the test license button. I'm gonna get a current license status authenticated. I'm gonna hit the okay button, and the application will start. And as I said, the nice thing about this process is that my search history remains available to me. So anything unique about your sessions that you've set preferences on or any files that you've got stored in the home folder, they're still available to you. If you have any problems with this, again, I want to remind you, send an email to support@directEDGAR.com. Again, that email address, let me get it on the screen here, is support@directEDGAR.com. Thanks for your patience, and I hope you have a great day. Take care.
