Add Peer Review Report byline

In this video, I will walk you through the process of making a decision and informing authors of a manuscript that has gone through the structured review process.   Structured review consists of a set of core questions that guide reviewers throughout the peer review process and provide clear information to editors and authors.   Please note that there are two different sets of core questions for research article and review article types. However, the core questions apply for all disciplines. Journals might add extra specific questions to these two sets. From the required reviews complete folder, access the manuscript for which a decision needs to be made. Go to the decision page by clicking on the "Submit Editor’s Decision and Comments" action link. Select a decision term from the drop-down menu. There is also an option to provide overall manuscript rating for the submission and a rating for the reviewers. The "Confidential comments to Editor" section will contain any notes from the reviewers meant specifically for the editor.  The comments to author section will contain any additional suggestions provided by the reviewers that were not covered by the review questions. Please leave any further comments to the author in this section.  This is followed by the reviewers’ responses to questions, which will be presented in a tabulated format. Similar to the reviewer comments to author field, all the reviewers’ responses will be selected by default to be included in your decision.   The review questions and responses will be grouped in the decision letter sent to the authors.  Clicking on proceed will take you to a summary page. If required, you can go back to edit the comments and the decision.  Click on "Submit Decision" to finalize your decision for the manuscript. If you have additional permissions, you will be able to draft the decision letter where you can customize the letter and will also have a further opportunity to modify any review comments if needed.  If you have permission to notify the author of the decision, click on "Send now" to send the decision letter to the author.  This is how you inform authors of a manuscript that has gone through the structured review process.
