hi I'm Stuart moon from air and energy and today we're going to cover the operations of your new train XL 8 24 and 850 thermostats as well as how to use the nexi app from your smartphone to control them to change the temperature you click right here on the temperature setting the 76 you can see it'll bring up the up and down arrows and you just click up or down to set your desired temperature you can go to hold that temperature permanently you can give it a hold until or you can go into your scheduling if you have your thermostat set up for scheduling to change your thermostat to simple mode you go to menu settings screen and to home view options right now as a default you'll see it's set on classic and if you go ahead and click simple hit apply go back home you'll see now instead of having to click on the set point you can just go up or down right from your home screen right now this thermostat is in cooling mode and you can see that the set point over here is cool 275 degrees to change that you would click right here on where it says cooling and you can change it from cooling to off or heating or auto auto allows you to set both a heating and cooling setpoint and it will automatically keep it between those two settings so once again you go right here to this setting and you tell it what you're looking for it to do to turn the system off obviously you would just click this off hit apply and it would then turn the system off and you'll have it you know shown right here what the system is doing a lot of customers ask how to schedule the thermostats and you can do it from the thermostat and I'll show you but we absolutely recommend if you are looking to schedule that you connect your thermostat to Wi-Fi and to nexia and go onto your computer and schedule it from there it is so so much easier to do it from your computer screen and therefore you know the time that it would take you to try to click through the schedules here is very difficult compared to looking at it on your computer screen and using it from there but this is a setup to schedule and you'll see you know the schedule here that it has you can go into all the different days and tell you know individual schedules on different days and you can again tell it from even from the home screen you know what you're looking for it to do if you want it to be running on schedule so it's now following a schedule or if you'd like it to be on a permanent hold but again please enroll this thermostat into nexia and do the scheduling online it will make your life that much simpler to control the humidity you can go ahead and click right here on the indoor humidity this is what it's reading this train thermostat allows you to select different target humidity's and what it does is just run the system a little bit past setpoint - dehumidifier if you you tell it to so you can go all the way down to 35% which is probably a bit too low 45 to 55 is usually absolutely perfect we leave ours at 50% and in our office here and once again you just you can click this and you'll bring up the target humidity right here to enroll your thermostat on your network and your Wi-Fi you go to menu settings network and then right now you can see this one is already connected but you would click right now connect to Wi-Fi it will search and find your network if you have a passcode passcode on it you have to just type that in and that would connect right to your Wi-Fi the reason to connect your Wi-Fi is you can then enroll it into nexia you can also see on your home screen your current weather for your location you can go right here see forecast you can actually see live radar as well to set up your weather you go to menu weather location and you type in your zip code where your houses and this allows the thermostat to pull weather data from online and show it to you right here and I'll show you alerts it'll show you the radar and it'll show you your five-day forecast all that stuff right from your home screen to enroll your thermostat into nexia you go to menu next ya and you'll see here now that's going to start talking about how how its wanting you to do it you're gonna go ahead and click Next accept and then right here is where you need to have the code from your online account I'm going to show you how to do that from your phone you can do it right from your phone so from the nexi app on your phone you click in the upper left here scroll down and you're going to see connect a new device we're going to do trainer American Standard Wi-Fi thermostat take continue and here it gives you the code that you're going to type in right into your thermostat it next on your thermostat and unfortunately for us right now it's taking a little bit longer because it is doing a firmware update at the same time but you can see on the phone that it did get successfully enrolled and you'll see that it's right here the thermostat 6 and once this updates the firmware it will bring it back up and you'll be able to control the thermostat again from there however you can click right into here and now control the thermostat from your phone and the next thing to do is once you're enrolled in Nexian you're connected to Wi-Fi go ahead and go to settings and go to software upgrades it's S&W upgrades and hit refresh and it'll just make sure that the software area on the thermostat is the most up-to-date this one already is but if that is not the case you won't have access to the simple home screen so it is an important step to you know go ahead and allow it to update its software it will do it eventually automatically but you might as well get it done in just a couple clicks hopefully that answered most of the questions you had and of course if you still have any more we're happy to help just give us a call we'll help you over the phone or send a technician to your home thanks for watching air and energy simply better
