Add signature service credit card
ladies and gentlemen welcome back and thanks for tuning in to another episode today so when it comes to credit cards specifically visa cards you might notice when you look at the card right underneath the visa logo in the bottom corner it might say something like visa infinite or visa signature so when it comes to the visa differentiating their branding on these cards what does this mean how does it play into the card benefits and most importantly what does this mean for you that's what we're talking about on today's show and i'm gonna tell you and i'm gonna do it right now so starting off when it comes to cards that are backed by the visa payment network there are three different tiers first here is gonna be your traditional visa card or visa platinum which weirdly enough platinum is the entry level tier go figure next up is going to be visa signature and at the very top you're gonna have visa infinite and depending on which type of visa card you have there are different card perks or card benefits that can come with it and notice the key word there is can and we will talk about that a little bit later but first we're going to go over the different sets of benefits that you could potentially have with any one of these visa cards starting out with your traditional or visa platinum card these cards can be used with apple pay and have contactless payments cardholder inquiry services travel and emergency assistance services auto rental collision damage waiver roadside dispatch extended warranty managed service zero liability for fraudulent charges a year-end summary statement and emergency card replacement and emergency cash disbursement next up visa signature benefits and these are all building on top of each other as we go so you'll get visa signature concierge visa signature luxury hotel collection travel accident insurance purchase security and lost luggage reimbursement and finally visa infinite benefits visa infinite luxury hotel collection visa infinite concierge service global entry statement credit visa infinite car rental privileges priority pass lounge access discount air airline incidental statement credits and then visa infinite chauffeur car services so across the board a very interesting set of perks and quite frankly a lot of perks that probably don't sound all that unfamiliar to frequent watchers of the show or credit card enthusiasts out there so how does this all work so we'll bring back our visa infinite card and we'll use the chase sapphire reserve for example so you can see some of these benefits are very similar if not the exact same benefit you get for having the chase sapphire reserve specifically that global entry credit where you get a hundred dollars for using your card to pay for your global entry pass every four years that's the exact credit that the sapphire reserve gives you as a travel card again priority pass again same example here with sapphire reserve you being a visa infinite card you get priority pass access as well it's similar if you look at the chase sapphire preferred which is the little brother to the chase sapphire reserve it also happens to be a visa signature card not an infinite card so you can see here it's the sapphire preferred has a level of travel benefits but it's definitely not that premium tier the sapphire reserve is built at again you don't get that global entry you don't get that priority pass things like that so when credit card issuers like the chase bank of america wells fargo partner with a credit card network visa discover mastercard american express those are car networks specifically for visa these are the base perks that come with each tier of card so then the card issuer gets about three different options here the card issuer can actually just like no i don't want to offer all these benefits to my consumers the card issuer can actually yes i'll take all these benefits and offer them to the consumers or the card issuer can kind of like pick and choose some benefits the card issuer like chase may actually offer a better perk than what visa is offering in their signature infinite lineup so when it comes to perks and benefits it doesn't really matter if you have a visa signature versus a visa infinite card really what you're gonna have to do is check one the card issuers website or product page to see specifically what benefits are being offered for that specific card whether it's signature infinite or platinum visa card doesn't matter and two you're going to want to check the benefits guide it's usually a little handbook that you get in your welcome letter when you sign up for the card that will call out very specifically what benefits and perks you get and the requirements for each one of those benefits and to walk you through a little bit of a real world example here of remember when chase refreshed the freedom lineup so both the freedom the freedom unlimited got a refresh and then they introduced the brand new freedom flex card the only real difference between those cards perks and features wise was the chase freedom flex offers cell phone protection and the chase freedom unlimited does not so that wasn't really chase deciding hey i don't want to offer cell phone protection to every one of my freedom customers turns out if you go through the visa signature benefits you don't see cell phone protection there at all however chase freedom flex switched to mastercard in fact i think it's a mastercard world elite and one of the perks of mastercard world elites is that they have cell phone protection coverage so that's not to say that chase couldn't offer cell phone protection on whatever credit card they wanted in their entire lineup i'm sure they could but in this case chase chose to take the underlying benefits of a world elite car with mastercard and they chose to keep the benefits of a visa signature card and did not supplement it with anything else the last difference that would matter to a consumer picking between cards is going to be the minimum amount of credit that each card comes with for example visa signature cards the minimum credit line you can be approved for is about five thousand dollars where on the other hand the minimum credit line for a visa infinite card is ten thousand dollars this is why it's generally reported or recommended that you have higher credit limits when applying for a more premium travel card like the chase sapphire reserve it's not necessarily that chase wants to keep their metal premium travel card to higher credit worthiness folks it's that you need that higher credit score that higher credit track record in order for chase feel comfortable extending you the minimum requirement of ten thousand dollars in credit to get the card visa signature on the other hand five thousand dollar minimum line of credit much easier to qualify for than ten thousand dollars so there you go guys that is the difference between the three tiers of visa cards the main thing to look at here is not so much what tier visa card you have but the actual perks and benefits package that the card issuers offering for that specific product so let me know down below if this was helpful for you and i'd also be curious to see your thoughts on this style of video would you be interested in seeing this very breakdown of all the benefits on say like the mastercard offers for example let me know down below but anyways guys that's gonna do it for this one as always thank you so much for watching and i'll catch you in the next one
