Display zip code title

the example worksheet has employee data of a company it has employee details like name address zip code telephone number Social Security number you can see for the first and fifth employee the zip code is displayed as four-digit only but it actually has zero prefix but Excel treated as a number hence not displaying the zero prefix you can also see the telephone number and social security numbers are not displayed in proper format the zip code telephone number and social security number can be displayed in proper format by changing the formatting for the columns select the zip code column by moving the cursor to top of column until it changes to black down arrow and then click on Mouse Excel selects the entire column now right-click on mouse and click on format cells now click on special on the right-hand side you can see Excel displays two types of zip code formats the first is for five digit zip codes and the second one is for nine digit zip codes select the first one as the data has only five digit zip codes and click OK you can see the first and fifth employee zip codes are changed changed and a zero prefix is added now select the telephone number column and follow the same steps to get to special format now select the type as telephone number and click OK you can see Excel changes the data and displays in telephone number format select social security number column and follow the same steps to get to special format this time select the type as social security number and click OK you can see Excel changes the values to proper Social Security number format if you liked this video please subscribe to our Channel
