hello my name is samantha anderson i am the undergraduate program coordinator at the leadership alliance part of my job is to oversee the entire application process for all of our summer research early identification program or s-r-e-i-p sites i am also the summer program coordinator for the s-r-e-i-p at brown university you can email me anytime with any questions about the s-r-e-i-p as a whole or about the s-r-e-i-p at brown university at samantha underscore anderson brown.edu it is my pleasure to show you our application today to show you each part of it and to hopefully answer any questions you might have about the application process for anything i don't address in this video again please feel free to email me at any time so this is what the home page looks like for our application and the first thing you're going to do is register you're going to register as a student and you must complete any areas of the application that have an orange line on the side so i'm going to go through and complete just those areas here you'll see on this section we're just asking for some basic information we are asking who you are where you live here we go with probably the most personal question we ask on this page which is your gender identity we've left a blank here because we recognize that gender is a spectrum and people identify in a multitude of ways we do request that you enter the way that you identify in this section if you feel uncomfortable or would rather not share that information you are invited to decline to indicate in this section you'll also create a password um that has letters numbers and alphanumeric characters let's see if i got it right i did um and now you can go onto the student home page and complete the application so you're going to be applying right now for the summer research early identification program you'll see this information throughout the application the deadline to submit the application is february 1st at 11 59 pacific time all of your materials including letters of recommendation must be submitted by that time you will have to agree to our terms and conditions of use before you get into the application proper um i do suggest you read all these so you know what you are agreeing to when you sign up i would like to point out once again this reminder of the 11 59 pm pacific time deadline that you need all of the materials in by this time i get emails from a lot of students on february 2nd who are asking for an extension they just didn't have a letter of recommendation submitted on time you are officially agreeing when you initial this form to abide by our application i'm going to download those terms of service and jump into the application so the application has four main parts the application proper...
