hey guys I'm Cody straight here from access he forms thanks for checking this out and look we want to answer a couple of questions with this video question number one is really should you whenever you're dealing with patient electronic signature capture specifically on tablets should you have the patient use their finger or should you give them a stylus okay so that's question 1 question 2 is if you are going to use a stylus which type of stylus should you use so we're gonna answer both of those questions in this video all right so we've been providing electronic signature technologies for a number of years and the what we've had for the most part is hospitals using something like this a little LCD device from a company like Wacom or topaz or ink using this in the registration area which works nicely there whenever you have a fixed registration workstation but of course mobility is all the rage these days we want to capture signatures at the bedside and so to do that really this is the better tool using a tablet is a better tool for that so because of that again the question of should you the should patients use their finger or should use the stylus comes into place so let's answer that question first so is there a straightforward answer should you have a patient use their finger or a stylus well there's really not exactly a straightforward answer according to the feedback we get from our customers but there are some things that you should consider so first off as far as using the finger to sign something on a tablet the feedback that we get is that most of the time patients that are say 75 years or younger have no trouble signing off on a consent form using their finger on a tablet okay but the patients that are 75 years 80 years and older what they seem to do whenever you hand them a tablet and you say sign here is they'll use their fingernail to tap on the screen and to try to sign off on it now you have to have a capacitive conductor to interact with the screen on the tablet so that could be your finger specifically that you know the skin on your finger it's the tip of a stylus fingernail is not capacitive so it doesn't work and it's frustrating for the patients there's in their tap and like whether this stinks this is not a good experience right so because of that we are finding more and more hospitals especially whenever you're interacting with patient in signature you want to give the patient a stylist because that works across the board as soon as you put a stylist in somebody's hand they immediately know what to do with it without fail okay so should you use a stylist or should you have the patient sign with the finger based upon the...
