hi this is Matt Matt in this video I will talk to you about marking students homework digitally and giving them feedback let's get started if you are teaching online or giving your students digital assessments you need to find a way to mark their homework digitally and the giving them feedback in this video you will see two ways of doing this the first way we will talk about receiving PDF files writing on them and sending them back and in a second way I will introduce your website class kake.com and then I will show you a hub you can give feedback students through that website let's start with the first way first of all you need to receive homework from students and they can either email you or plot the work to a classroom or at your website so they can use in other method methods to do that but there's one thing which is really really important you need to receive a PDF file to mark them easily because some students send pictures some of them send Word documents it's really hard to organize them it's really hard to annotate on them so that's why we want you to receive we want teachers to receive PDF file it is fast to send PDF files because they do not cover too much space right that's why my students send their homework papers as PDF files one PDF file their assignment so first thing first they need to know how to send an assignment as a PDF file and there are a lot of ways of doing this the most popular one is chem Skinner they can download a champion or app to their smartphones and when they submit their assignments they can just take pictures of their papers while using cams canner and software converts pictures to a PDF file it's a great software and I'm going to show you how they can do that okay here's a software they just need to click this photo icon and then take pictures after they do that the software detects the page and saves it you see it also enhanced the picture let's say you have two pages Symonds they just need to click this new page icon next to the page we have here so and then they can take picture again to see it is in the size of the picture but sometimes you guys sometimes you see that it doesn't attack all the page so you can just adjust it manually or you can click this full size icon and then that's it it will automatically enhance the picture and there are different modes you can see but the magic color mode will give you the best resolution look that they just need to press this PDF I can guide at the top and then the software saves the PDF file click on this share icon so when they do that they can email you or upload it to classroom or another method you can see on the screen right now so I want them to email me so they just press this gmail icon and then I just write my email address there so it is that simple so this is what they should do okay let's say you receive the file and this is the file you see and you want to mark them and send them back so we can use any kind of not taking software guys to mark their assignments so I'm using PDF annotator 8 to mark homework papers because it is faster than most not taking software and it has great tools I will show you in a minute so let's open this with PDF annotator 8 let's make it fullscreen now I can write on it and give them feedback I'm using my graphics tablet to annotate on it and you see it's easy to put check marks on it but you don't have to do that you can use your mouse to the and there are also great stamps here in the software so let's see it looks like that look at this these are the correct answers and let's say this one is wrong I'm going to put that sign on it there are different stamps here you see and you can definitely change it and you can also give some feedback for example if you want to write down a solution you can cross the old one and then write your solution there all your ends are dead and I usually put some feedback at the top so for example they say that he passes the assignment so I'm gonna put a little peace sign on top of it and then if I want to give them some feedback I can write something on it like please check question number 3 or please use math format or if it's perfect I just simply write perfect very good or something like that and you can also use some stamps guys for example some some emojis or some star signs here so look at this it looks great so this is how you can mark students who work digitally you just have to save it and close it and email them back or we can upload it to Google classroom ok that's it this is the first way let's talk about the second way using right side appears on the left side and there are also some drawing and writing tools if they have Andre tablets or pets they can definitely write on it by using their stylus or they can also solve icon at the top and choose the picture they want to upload they don't need to use computer to do that by the way they can use their mobile phones they can go to class keep calm and then take pictures of their solutions and upload it to the website and that's it there's no Save button guys when they close the window everything will automatically be saved and the good thing is here there is no email traffic there's no receiving papers and send them back to the students and students just need to log in solve them or upload their solution pictures and then close the website everything will be automatically saved and after they submit it you'll log in mark their papers give feedback and that's it you can use your graphics tablets to do that or you can use your mouse and do the correction
