Add uniform attachment

[Music] hello everyone welcome to part 2 of the handmade LOC extensions videos if you have not seen part 1 you might want to go check it out so in this part of the 2 video series I'm gonna really show you guys how I install or attach these handmade LOC extensions to my clients head or hair so first I just pretty much get an idea of what she wants what size does she want a grid pattern that she wanted to be free styled she wanted something in between and she didn't want anything too big or too small so I'm just parting accordingly and I'm gonna section off her hair according to the size that she describes that she wanted so once I have the section that I'm gonna attach the lock to I just go ahead and trim off the excess because some of the locks that I made had longer or shorter not really shorter but longer loose parts that I'm going to attach so I'm just kind of kind of lightly and subtly just trim that away before I start attaching so just as you saw there it's just that simple I just add the loose hair of the extension to my clients loose hair and just start crocheting the same method that I used to make the lock so I'm just pulling hair from the outside of the lock to the inside of the lock from the outside of the lock to the inside of the lock and I keep rolling it under my fingers to make sure that the lock comes out uniform that comes out around and not flat and I'm also starting from her roots because I don't want to go from the base to the root because that would actually hurt so I'm going from the roots of the base or where the loose hair meets the actual block part that makes sense [Music] [Music] as you can see the lock is forming and it's not quite neat yet there's still a lot of frizz however it's still to the point where it's really secure it really shouldn't even be pulled out at this point if you tried to tug on it however we still had a lot of frizz to pull from the outside to the inside of the lock or of the attachment area I'm just gonna keep keep using my tool keep pulling hair and from the outside to the inside and until I feel satisfied with the amount of friends that's left because there's gonna be frizz however it's best to have minimal frizz and please excuse my hands I work a lot with my hands if you guys can't tell so yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] this part actually is a lot faster than making the lock and that's what it looks like when I'm done and I'm one to the next lock this part is very simple it's very quick and it takes I think it took me about two minutes per attachment where it took me about six or seven minutes to make one lock a little f.y.i you can if you don't want to sit there and make these locks or if you can't find anyone who who wants to make these logs for you you can go ahead and order them online there's plenty of vendors on Etsy you can google it and find plenty of websites some salons even offer that service even if they mail the hair to you you can still get it fully formed fully fully first time I did two shows okay and now I'm gonna start working in the front because I want to make sure I get the party in the front exactly how she wants it and then I'm gonna go back and work in the middle of her head and once again it is the same it's the same technique as all the other locks that I've already done it's the only difference with this one is I'm a little bit more cautious because the hair around the perimeter of the head is usually the most fragile and it's usually the most inconsistent for example in the middle of your head you have a section of hair every single area in that section of hair pretty much in the same density the same population of follicles but in the front of your head it is not the same you have some spots that are thinner thicker you have it's just not the same therefore I'm a little bit more careful when it comes to the front and you have to be more generous when it comes to the front also because you don't want to have a whole bunch of little thin struggling locks in the front and that goes for just starting locs naturally with no extensions or adding extensions either way you want to think of it in the long term you want to think of what the locks are gonna look like a year from now how will they hold up and will it be too much tension for the hair like the hair to lock ratio has to be somewhat close if not very close and when I get to this point where the perimeter and the back are done I usually go ahead and set my patchwork or my grid pattern if you want to call it that to where I can pace myself I know how many I have left I know how many I'm working with so on and so forth so I make these little half wannabe coils just so I have a marker for a locker supposed to be there a lock is supposed to be there and I also have the locks where I want them I want each row alternating that way there's a fuller look to the locks so this actually helps me stay consistent and maintain what I what it is that I'm trying to achieve with the pattern all right in here I'm gonna show you guys just a little quick repair and it's just when I had one lock that was a little bit longer than the rest of them so what I did was I cut that excess off then I went ahead and picked out some hair although it really wouldn't I have unraveled I just wanted the insta look neat and round it off in that blunt so I'm taking the excess hair that I pulled out and just pulling it back in with the hook and that's that and here's the finished product completely done what I'm gonna do after this is I'm gonna go ahead and twist her hair I can't say every Swiss cuz it's the first time so I guess twist her hair and there's a shot of her roots and how it blended in very well with the extensions I'm just twisting her hair with the loop method because it's really much faster and the hair is long enough to do that and please excuse my lack of shirt I seriously forgot I was recording to be honest I was really focused on doing her hair and here's just a shot of the lock to show you the route to extension transition here I'm just doing the front of her head I usually retwist the front last because I feel like that's like the polishing or the kind of like the final part to me so that's what I do west and from here I'm just gonna give her a really simple style nothing fancy just a a style pulled back to get it off her face she said let herself I don't know what you do you will always be my boo all right you guys that is it for this video don't forget to check out Neeta she's here on YouTube at Nita 561 I will link her channel and either in the description box for in this video thank you guys for watching and as always I will see you guys in my next video I post videos every single Sunday so stay tuned bye guys
