[Music] what is going on guys code expert here and in this tutorial we are going to extend our solidity contract to add a new functionality to be so that the people will be able to vote on this contract all right so until B now we already have added the candidates but we didn't have any functionality to be able to vote so let's start by creating a mapping between address and bull alright and let's see so what we are going to do is we are going to use this ID this mapping to store the waters so that we will be able to know that this person has voted and therefore he should not should not be able to vote it once more all right so let's start by typing and creating a new function called vote and we take argument candidate ID all right and this is a public function and let's type the function here so the first condition that we require is the address from which we are going to vote should not be present in this voter mapping because if it is present in the water mapping then it means that if the person has already voted so let's let's write a function require which is inbuilt function I have already clear created a new tutorial explaining what require is in my previous playlist right so waters msg talks and we don't need this thing so what this does is it actually from this mapping we have this msg talks anger which is the address of this the person who is trying to vote and the water is the mapping and from the address it retracts the value of boolean whether it is voted or not the default value is false so required that this value is false because there is exclamation mark and then so that the person will not be able to vote once more and then require the spoken Ted ID is greater than zero because they don't want candidate ID less than two and candidate ID is less than or equal to candidates count all right yep so this means that the ID which is in the argument should be between zero and the candidates count all right and now what we are going to do is we are going to set the value of boat so waters sorry candidates and underscore candidate ID dot both count plus plus so what this does is it goes into this mapping candidates and then dot odd count is the word count of that particular candidate and increment all right and one more thing we are going to put here is that MSG dot singer is equal to two so we have said that this address is already set to true so that if it tries to vote again then it goes to this line and it says hey you have already voted and your vote doesn't count all right so we have built the function here and now just compile it or keep it to auto compile and then deploy the contract and here you go and now change the address to maybe this one and what we want to do now is let's first vote to candidate number one and vote and bam we have voted now candidate count is two and if we put the candidates 1 then we have a word count here all right and if we put the address so copy the address here and paste it here and it says true because this address is voted already if it tries to vote once again to candidate number two then it gives error because this line again let's check it to the next one so first let's see candidate number two and the Bob would count at zero now let's vote for it both and then candidate number two and we have a vote count of one so all right we have successfully created the contract with the voting functionality so in the next tutorials we are going to create a front-end and migrate this contract in truffle so that is it for this video guys I hope you liked this tutorial and please make sure to like it share it and subscribe to my channel because that will motivate me to create more awesome videos like this for now take care keep smiling and keep learning bye bye [Music] you
