what's up you guys my name is aubry and this is my channel and today i want to talk about the 30 executive orders that president joe biden has signed in his first few days of office i'm going to be breaking down the important executive orders that actually have an impact on you and your life and then we're going to be talking about this elusive 1400 check and what the chances of you actually receiving that check are so let's get started anytime a new president takes office the first few days are always filled with a flurry of executive orders it happened with former president barack obama's administration it happened with former president donald trump's administration and it is currently happening with president joe biden's administration we are seeing executive order after executive order signed and he's only been into office for a few days now the thing that's important to remember about executive orders is the fact that presidential powers are not all encompassing when it comes to executive orders there are things that they can authorize and other things that they cannot authorize for example a president does not have the authority to issue stimulus checks so even if president joe biden wanted to send out fourteen hundred dollars to meals checks tomorrow to every eligible american he simply does not have the authority to do that the authority to issue those types of checks and those types of payments relies solely on congress in fact this is called the power of the purse and it explicitly says in the constitution that this power is granted to congress so there are areas in which the president has no authority to sign executive orders on and this is one of the reasons why even though president joe biden promised everybody that he would get them 1400 stimulus checks this is why we haven't seen it because it simply is not up to him it's up to lawmakers and he can implement executive orders that help push lawmakers into the right direction but he does not have the power to do it on his authority alone with that being said let's go into some of these executive orders and what they mean for you guys and what they mean for covid relief because there are some substantial executive orders that do have some pretty significant impacts so the first executive order that has a pretty significant impact especially for those of you that have federally backed student loans is the pause on federal student loan payments so as you guys know with the keras act you didn't have to make payments on your student loans and you also didn't incur any more interest on those student loans either that expired late last year mid last year and it has now been extended through september of 2021 so if you are somebody that has a federally backed student loan you do not need to make any student loan payments for the majority of this year and you won't have any more interest being accumulated on those loans either now this executive order expires on september 30th so if you have federally backed student loans you are free and clear until september 30th but keep in mind that student loan forgiveness was an issue that president joe biden ran on quite heavily it's been discussed a lot in the democratic party of forgiving student loan debt up to a certain amount and it's unclear when exactly that will happen but in my opinion i don't think it's a matter of if it will happen i simply think it's a matter of when now i think it's highly doubtful that the government will forgive a hundred percent of student loan debt i think that that is extremely unlikely but what i think could end up playing out is saying you get your student loan debt forgiven up to a certain amount so keep an eye out for that as well in the coming months and in the coming term of president joe biden i do think that will be coming it's a question of will it come before september 30th i don't know the answer to that but at the very least with this executive order student loans do not have to be paid back until september 30th as long as they are a federal student loan next is the foreclosure and eviction ban now this is something that had been in place for the majority of 2020 it expired at the end of 2020 and then it was extended again until the end of january well with this executive order it has been extended again until march 31st so until the end of the first quarter now keep in mind that this only applies to federally backed mortgages meaning if you live in a like private apartment building that has a private mortgage that's held by a private company and that apartment doesn't have any ties to any sort of federal lending program then this does not apply to you and you still could be evicted so this does not apply to 100 of homeowners 100 of tenants but it does apply to a whole lot of people so i would make sure that you are aware whether or not this affects you if you're somebody that could be at risk of being evicted or foreclosed on but again this has been extended as of march 31st it's unclear if it'll be extended again after this march 31st deadline now the vast majority of the executive orders did have something to do with the pandemic and getting the pandemic under control it included things like rejoining the world health organization also known as who it included a mask mandate for all federal property it included a 100-day masking challenge to try to encourage people to wear masks for 100 days to see how it affects the curve of the pandemic and the rates of people getting sick it also includes a number of different efforts to try to streamline testing as well as the vaccine and vaccine distribution so i mean about 50 of all the executive orders signed at least had something to do with the coronavirus in some way shape and form there was also a number of immigration as well as environmental executive orders including stopping the construction of the keystone pipeline including stopping the construction of the border wall including reversing the muslim travel ban as well as rejoining the paris climate accord now these are just a handful of the executive orders that president joe biden has put into place over the last few days and i would say the most substantial at least in regards to covid relief specifically is that eviction foreclosure ban as well as the student loan forgiveness at least until september 30th so those are pretty substantial ones i would say at least as far as coveted relief and stimulus goes but now let's talk about stimulus checks because this is something that has been talked about relentlessly over the last you know 30 to 40 days is the topic of a 2 000 stimulus check now being 1400 given the fact that we already received 600 a few weeks ago now it's important to note that there are still a lot of people who have not received that 600 stimulus check there's a lot of people who have said that they never received it even though they received it the first time there are reports from the irs saying that payments were sent out to the wrong bank accounts to like temporary bank accounts that were on old tax returns it just seems as though this is almost as equally as much as a mess as it was the first time with the cares act so this is a big problem in fact president joe biden did sign an executive order a couple of days ago trying to address this trying to extend and streamline the process of getting payments to the people because as of right now there are millions of people who not only have not received the 600 check that was just issued but they still also have not received the 1200 check from the cares act so there are a lot of issues with the process of distributing these stimulus checks and the stimulus money that is still being worked out to this day with that being said though the question of 1400 specifically and this 1.9 trillion dollar package that president joe biden announced before he was sworn into office and the answer is i'm not entirely sure i think that we will see a check in some way shape or form we will see a third stimulus check but will that stimulus check be fourteen hundred dollars i'm not entirely convinced i think it absolutely could but i definitely think there's a chance that it will be negotiated down the fact is that even though democrats control the house the senate and the presidential office it doesn't mean that they get to just do whatever they want and the fact is is that they still need republicans to sign on them on a number of key issues and as of right now there are a number of key republicans that democrats would need to side on this bill that are currently starting to push back saying that it's too much money it's too large of a bill it's too aggressive and they really need those republican lawmakers to step up and to vote in favor of the bill in order to pass it so as of right now i would say things are a bit up in the air i would not expect to see anything in the coming weeks i think maybe we would see something at the end of february early march but i think even that is maybe an aggressive timeline but really i'm interested in seeing how things play out in the coming weeks ultimately i think we will see a stimulus check the big question is will it be a fourteen hundred dollars to meals check and that's what i am not entirely sure of but with that being said you guys i think that ultimately we are still up in the air on a number of key factors of things like stimulus checks of things like when we're going to get them and how much it's going to be for as well as other programs being extended throughout the end of the year and going into even 2022. the fact is we are still very early on in almost every aspect of these negotiations and we won't really know how things are going to play out for a few more weeks but like always you guys i would love to hear your thoughts if you have any questions if you have any comments if you have anything to add make sure to leave a comment down below remember that i have a car sharing master class and full course telling you guys how i've been able to turn turo into a semi passive income stream making six figures that course is currently on sale until the end of january once we hit february 1st it is going to full price so if you want it at a 50 discount go check
