hey Megumi users my name is Beth and in this video I'm going to demonstrate how to assign a signature file to a GP user this will allow you to use signature logic across companies when configuring security settings using Mac or most task-based security model if you are using Mac or milega C which is security by user ID check book ID for standard GP security the signature assignment feature is not available instead signatures can be accessed at the company level from within the signature library a company administrator must handle signature assignments and all needed signatures must be readily available in a digital format for instructions on how to create a digital signature for use in GP please refer to our videos page logged in as sa I'll navigate to the signature assignment window at the system level I want to assign signature files to Debbie and Karen as their signatures are needed for the check printing process in two of my companies first I'll click on Debbie then use the lookup to find her signature file it's already been imported into the system so I can simply choose the file to complete the assignment I'll do the same thing for Karen but I can see that her signature file is not yet in the system to import a new signature file click new from within the McCormick's signature files lookup window this will open the signature library click import then find the location in which the signature you want to import is stored select it and click open you can import signature files in the following formats PNG gif JPEG bitmap or TIFF as you can see Karin's signature has now been imported into the signature library if I close this window and return to the signature assignment window I can now associate Karen's username with her signature by the way it's simple to remove a signature assignment simply click on the user and select the X here this will not remove the signature file from the signature library but does remove the association with the username now that the necessary signatures have been assigned to the appropriate users I can go on to setup threshold IDs with both Debby and Karen signatures assigned as default signatures and that's how you assign signature files for use in McCormick's ask based security setup thanks so much for watching and we'll see you next time
