this Punk so proposals step one what is a proposal right basically a proposal is a document that you sent to your clients in b2b selling send it to your clients so they know what you do and they also know that you can provide what you say you're gonna provide proposal should be customized and it should outline their problems and then what sort of solutions you can provide along with basically everything you know about the project when when's the best time to use a proposal that's part two if you notice up here copies right here so what is a proposal already done you use a proposal basically in any sort of b2b selling situation where the project that you're selling is over a certain amount it's usually so for a lot of software as a service companies especially ones that have like a six month commitment or year-long commitment very few people are going to actually buy directly from your website so don't need to at least get on the phone with you and if you're if you don't do a very good job of showing your offer on your website or if you're running an agency and your service is super customized you're almost always going to need a proposal so that's when to use this sort of thing moving on what goes into a proposal interesting question white board what goes into a proposal well there are a few different sections of what goes into proposal and here's here's the by a payment schedule if you have it and then a big signature box so they can sign immediately that's the high level of it so let me jump in to each section in detail by the way I'm gonna have a link to this example proposal here to act mink um its words that I actually used to sign a client but I changed the name to Acme because I don't think he'd be happy to have this his proposal on here so here it is so Acme provides companies with an easy to install door locking system powered by smartphones companies using scrapers and lead generators to find leads from aggregator sites like CrunchBase and book and employment vehicle fills outline where they are right now right company has a list of over 20,000 emails yet they only book 1% if we could raise that by even 5% of each you click and now I got that from a meeting I already had with the plan so proposals usually come after call number one so it's usually a bunch of cold emails to get them on the first call first call you collect all the data about the project then you go write the proposal and call number two is this president is the presentation of what you're putting together right here so once you have the sure your solution shows this one shows the issues with their current strategy and then number two is we need to find users that are raising their hand and asking for a solution like acne for instance in the tech vertical we might need companies that are freshly moving or hiring a DevOps team on a Joel's outline a solution they can use right there then you jump into the project goals so show what it's like in the future here's the project goals we want to create a sequence of emails for each of acnes user segments that has at a minimum double the response rate turn emails KPI right there right did we get doubles front straight sure you succeed you didn't fail number to identify prospecting channels for each of the chosen user segments so these are places where customers are already craving a solution like acne so find them awesome prospecting channels did we find them yes did we not know we failed so the purpose of the goals is to line up key performance indicators or KPIs all right Mary Kay P I on the border now so KPI means key performance indicator basically it's a goal so we said we would reach out to 30 people we reached out to 35 35 we over delivered on our KPI basically that's that's what that means so third thing we're going to do is review email performance efforts seven 14 30 days rewrite the email sequence as needed so outline what we're gonna do and then once your project goals are there right you're selling the future you go into tangible deliverables what are you gonna give them so we're gonna give them qualification criteria you know an outline of where they can find water leads five to seven emails for each segment optimization of prospecting methods three rounds of email revisions so for you deliverables might be if you're a web development company that you need we used to go down and break out the approach super granularly over like five or six pages but people were just skipping in so there's no point in writing it for you either so timeline and budget these guys wanted to see a different budget for each vertical that we're ready emails for but the the frame works pretty much the same right budget an amount of money a timeline a amount of time how long is it gonna take and not much is gonna cost and then I have I haven't set up as a minion right you picked three four ten percent off pick seven four twenty percent off you priced us however you however you want but usually the two things you need or budget and timeline that's all people want to see and then you jump into invoicing right fifty percent you on signing the remainder do on delivery of the final finally sequences easy sometimes there are other sections in this proposal but you usually wait for the client to throw them in if they want like a confidentiality clause or anything like that you put that in there too um and that's that's basically it that's what goes into a proposal what happens now is you send this proposal up to client you do a call number to client says this sounds good and then all they have to do basically sign their name and then legally their client appears and that is how to customize a proposal for for your services company or for
