hey what's up everybody andrew here i wanted to put together a little video for you guys on how to disable the double honk on my 2024 texplor st on a lot of the facebook pages that i'm on i've seen a lot of people talking about disabling the double honk or how to do it but we haven't seen any videos on step-by-step how to sign up for foreskin how to go in and actually manipulate foreskin to disable that honk so what I did today was put together a little video I recorded my screen on my laptop on first signing up for foreskin downloading foreskin and then I actually went in sat in my car opened up foreskin and walk through step by step click by click how you guys are going to disable the double honk so when it comes to being able to access your car's computer system through foreskin you need to go ahead and buy one of these obd2 connectors I'm sure everybody knows what this is is familiar with it this plugs into that little slot for a chip or for a onboard diagnostic reader everybody knows where they are if you don't they're located within 24 inches of your steering wheel usually on the left or on the bottom kind of look underneath where your feet are going to go look up and there's a little plug I'll show you once we get inside the car where mine is I got this off of Amazon there are literally hundreds of these on Amazon ranging from like 15 bucks to 40 50 dollars Plus this was $18 $18 and some change off of Amazon I recommend this it was one of the cheapest ones I found and I have not had any problems with this yet so I think you guys are really going to like this so here's my obd your guyses should be in the same place if you guys have a 20/20 for an explorer i'm sure all the other Ford Explorer models are in the same place here's the obd2 USB that I'm running literally plugs in right there the USB plugs into your computer and so once you get that plugged in it's going to wreck and swirl be ready to go so what I wanted to do was just walk you through real quickly how to go in access for skin software there's a couple steps involved in doing this so I just want to make sure that everybody is squared away with how to download foreskin and how to sign up so they can access it because downloading it is only the first step so what we're going to do is we're going to go to foreskin org you can also just go to foreskin org this way and I'll show you there's a step so you need to come up to products here click products and you're going to see for scan for Windows they have an app for Android and iOS as well so you're going to see I've clicked down here and get a free extended license I'll come back to that in a second what you're going to want to do to download for scan is click this for scan version two point three point two nine beta for Windows click that you're going to see it's downloading down here so I'll just open that up when it's ready I already have this downloaded on my computer so I'm not going to go through the entire process so what you're going to want to do is just follow the prompts here see it's saying that I already have four scan running in the background I'll just hit OK alright it's not gonna let me go so you're gonna want to follow that process it's really easy only takes a couple of minutes to get that downloaded on your computer once you have it downloaded though you're you're not in the clear you're not just ready to plug and go so you're going to want to go to this get free extended license here so I already have that open on this page so you're going to want to fill this information out so you're going to want to create a username put your email address passwords that information in here go through put all the in that it's asking for and then you're going to want to come down here and you're going to want to click Submit what it's going to do is it's going to send your information I guess to a foreskin administrator and they are going to approve it and then when they approve it they're going to give you a license key that you can actually go in once you get in foreskin they're going to give you a license key that you can come in put in here so you're going to open up for scan and you're going to see down here in about you're going to click that and it's going to give you an activation code your screen is going to look a little bit different because there's going to be a box here for you to put the activation code that they send you in your email and then once you do that you're ready to go you're ready to plug in and do whatever you want to do with your car all right so now that everybody has finished with the account registration and finished downloading the for scan software you've gone out you've purchased your obd2 USB drive we're sitting in the car right now I have my laptop up I have my obd plugged into the car I have my USB plugged into my laptop what we're going to do is go ahead and open up for scan saying it's already open which it is so once you're in for scan and you've already come down here and activated for scan you're going to want to come to this very first emblem here on the left and if you come down here to the bottom you'll see a couple different logos here so this one on the Left says connect to vehicle so before we do this we're going to want to turn your car on press and hold the engines start button for two seconds do not put your foot on the brake we don't want to start the engine we just want to start the car so all right I just turned my car on everything's starting up in my car so what we're going to want to do is we want to come down here and click this connect a vehicle it's saying found recorded profile for this similar vehicle would you like to load selected profile yes I would so you're going to see down here vehicle ready it connected I'm all ready to go so the first thing that I recommend doing is coming over here and saving so you see I have a couple things here that I have saved factory settings so I recommend doing this so you have a backup if you want to go in and play with this and you're not sure what some things do and what some things are supposed to do and you're a newbie like myself definitely come in here and save some factory settings now that everything's saved what we're going to want to do is come down here configuration in programming you're going to see a couple lists of different modules here I don't know what any of them means to be quite honest with you so we're going to come to the BD ycm come down here to this play button run service procedure and click that it's going to take a couple seconds to load up so while you're letting it do its thing it's recognizing the car reading the car and acquiring all the data so we are actually inside the cars computer system and you're going to see right off the bat all these different options that we have you're more than welcome to go look through look them up online maybe find out what they do but what you're going to want to do before you click anything halfway down the screen you're going to see double honk on leaving cabin all you do is come over here double click on this on yours is going to say enabled double-click on enabled and you're going to click disabled hit the checkmark at this point in time it's disabled but it has not been installed on the car so what you're going to want to do is you're going to come down here to rights you're going to click on rights mine has no changes but if I go ahead and come back in here and was the change to enabled come down here and click right it's going to give you a confirmation please confirm these changes if you have more than one change it's going to list everything that you have changed so just in case you accidentally change something you can say oh no that's not right let me go back and fix that at this point you're going to click the checkmark and your car is going to do some really weird things your your screens going to blink your lights are going to blink your drivers cluster is going to blink and you're gonna see this mode that says Black's program successfully please cycle the ignition off then back on ignition is off and I'm actually turning my car back on all the way this time I don't know if you have to turn it all the way back on but I am right now so what I'm going to do is go ahead and go back in and I'm going to disable mine come down here and select right [Music] [Music] like I said you hear my car making some noises so it is programmed successfully and that's it so what you want to do at this point in time if you're all done come down here click stop you're going to back out come back up to the top here and come down and disconnect from vehicle you see down here interface vehicle not connected now we're all done ready to go hope you guys enjoyed the video give me a thumbs up if you do subscribe if you haven't subscribed already so it's as easy as that guys I hope you follow it along I hope the video wasn't too complex in my opinion it was pretty easy I feel like anybody that has a minimal knowledge on how to use a computer should be able to go through and disable that double honk like I said it only takes a couple minutes I will post a link on the obd2 USB cord that I purchased off of Amazon if you guys have Prime I think this specific one has one-day delivery so you guys can have it tomorrow if you buy it today and it's it's pretty easy so if you guys enjoyed this video again smash that thumbs up button subscribe I'm gonna be coming out with videos as much as I can I've only had this truck little over a week like I said so I'm trying to learn some new things as well so give me some ideas on what you guys would like to see and I hope you guys enjoyed this video have a great day and I will see y'all later thanks
