before we get started subscribe to my channel if you're selling your private vehicle to somebody make sure you do these particular steps because it can come back and like we had an issue we did all the steps we need to do as a seller but the buyer never transferred the title into uh his name and we was reaching back it out to him hey you need to transfer this title because my daughter kept getting easy tag bills saying that she ran the easy tag she didn't pay and so forth but I'm gonna show you the steps that we did which we send the information into the easy tag people and they deleted it and everything but the title was still in my daughter's name because this guy never transferred and we found out here a few days ago and it's been almost a year and that the guy that purchased the vehicle for my daughter he actually passed away about three months ago there in November I think around November so his family members was trying to reach out to us because they were trying to get rid of the vehicle and sell it but uh the guy that bought it from us never transferred the title so I'm gonna show you the first thing you need to do and it's a lot of videos out there on how to sell vehicles if you sell and your vehicles follow these steps especially in Texas and I don't sell vehicles I'm no expert in this I'ma just tell you what we did you can look up videos online and show you all the different steps but if you read the instructions on the back it tells you what to do but the first thing we did I was uh pretty cautious on this because the guy that bought the vehicle I don't know uh he was kind of wormy a little bit but what we did we did a bill of sale and you can print off a bill of sale off the internet you just say hey blah blah blah I sold this vehicle to this person for maybe two thousand dollars on this date get him decided and you sign it you run a copy of it you can give him a copy just take a picture of it the next thing you want to do once you get that bill of sale you want to take your title and fill out the information on the title make sure he print his name on the top you sign your name and he signed his name at the bottom because a lot of people don't want you to put a price or they don't want to sign because they probably want to resell this vehicle um to somebody else and I've looked on the internet they call this curved stoning where somebody buy a vehicle from you and what they do they get you to sign the title they don't sign it and they sell it to somebody else and transfer but that's not the proper way to do I heard that was illegal to do but if you're just selling your private vehicle just follow all the steps make sure you sign make sure they sign on the back of this title and go for it so that's the thing you want to do and before you turn on turn over the title to them make sure you feel out they call it a VTR that's a notification of vehicle transfer that means that hey you transfer this vehicle to somebody else and you're not responsible for anything like easy tags that they have an accident and hurt somebody it's no longer in your name because you notified the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles that you sold it to this person and they are taking on the responsibility and like the problem we was going through this guy never went into the DPS office and did the transfer so make sure you do that VTR it's called a VTR 346 vehicle notification transfer and you can do that on the internet and that's the best thing to do you can get on the internet fill this out send it off and they'll send you a receipt so if you ever have problems you got a receipt saying hey I did sell this vehicle to this particular person but they weren't responsible enough to go get it transferred like I said you can do that online make sure you run copies of all the stuff that you know the bill will sell uh the I think it's called the 130u title that you fill out and the VTR 346 run copies of that and if you can get a copy of the person's driver's license front and back which I did you know because he wanted to test the vehicle out before he leaves so I need a copy of his driver's license in case he never came back with the vehicle and another thing very important thing make sure you remove your easy tags stickers or anything that you have on your vehicles make sure you remove that because and a lot of people forget to do that you just selling the vehicle and the easy tag is still up there so this person is running through the easy tag and you getting the bills for so make sure you remove all that stuff out of your vehicle all right thanks for watching subscribe to my channel and have a great day
