foreign [Music] that's for sure for certain uh so what I'm doing at this point I'm I'm trying to get rid of some of the membrane I'm going to let it dry out a little more so I've I've salted it and rubbed that salt in so that's going to set the hair so we don't get as much slippage of hair on the other side uh but what I have to do is thin this hide so this part I'm just getting this membrane off once it dries I'm going to dry scrape it so the tool I'm using it's actually a spud for taking bark off trees so and basically to just be sharpened on one side so I've sharpened on both sides so it's a pretty sharp tool you can't really hurt a buffalo light I've I'm finding that out right now so I've got a lot of work to do but once I get the membrane off I'm going to let it dry out and then essentially I have to thin that height I just have to keep scraping particularly in the neck and this would be the hump area and at the neck it's it's almost 5 8 of an inch thick so the tanning solution won't take and hide that thick so I'm going to have to get it down to I don't know 3 8 of an inch quarter of an inch somewhere in that area and then it's going to take three tannins to uh to complete it anyway back at it there's an old saying that if at first you don't succeed try try again so you just saw me trying to scrape my hides with a tool that I repurposed from a spud barking tool and so I reshaped the end a bit and filed it and that didn't work so well so I I can resharpen that back so it'll be its original tool but I found this old gouge and it is hard to see what the metal is I'm not sure I'm going to find out once we start moving it but basically essentially I'm going to cut this guy off I'm going to thin that handle out so that I can mount it in an old Sledgehammer handle I've got one of them kicking around here somewhere then I'm going to flatten out the curved part of the ads and I'm going to put a 90 degree Bend in it so already be able to lean into that it'll be paper thin thinner than paper actually when I'm done uh anyway I'm not going to fire the forge up just yet I'm starting to get ready to do stuff I've got a lot of things to build like the tie downs for my Anvil it's not ready to go yet I've modified my position of this so it takes a lot less effort and I've put some weights on it it was kind of moving up...
