welcome to day number three of our video challenge and today we're going to talk about heart negotiations and bargaining you know sometimes it just works out you have a good relationship it's all nice and cozy and sweet but sometimes there's really the need to put out the hammer and go into a hard and tough negotiation and that's what this video is all about today i'm going to share with you my three most successful bargaining tricks that i have collected over the past 20 years of procurement and negotiation i also share counter measures if the other party is using bargaining methods and heart negotiation against you so the very first message here is using the extreme this is a very common tactic basically you make an extreme offer an extreme advantage for you and then very very very slowly make concessions the general idea behind this tactic is that you do actually give much less concessions as if you would for example give your pain point right away show immediately where your threshold is or give one big concession this is also a very good measure to slow down the overall negotiation progress so how do you deal with it when it's used against you if this is used against your extreme offers with very slow concessions the extreme tactic then you just have to label it say that this can't be serious even say that it is ridiculous you define a clear time frame and you stick to it you also should always have clarity about your alternatives and options and very important if you really are fed up if you really have enough just break up the negotiations aggressive counterparts usually return to the negotiation table much sooner than you might have expected the next tactic is they against themselves let's assume the other party makes you an offer before you now make a counter offer ask them for concessions this way they fight against themselves and they make improvements before you even make your counter offer that's a very effective way to let them fight against their own offer if someone else is using this against you make a very clear statement that you are expecting a counteroffer and also maybe label or say clearly that you will not fight against yourself the third and final tactic in this bargaining videos is the avalanche of requests tactic this one is also quite simple you make increasing requests as long as you can until you have the feeling that you hit some kind of barrier or some kind of wall that you met the limit of the other party so to say they get greater and greater every time you talk the goal here really is to find their limit attention you have to be prepared to take a step back once you have discovered this limit to make the best and most reasonable offer or request if the other side is using this...
