all right we're going to do in this video is turn this sketch into a carbon copy and transfer it in a forward direction not backwards so the first thing i have to do is prep the back side i've already done most of the work but i've used this once or twice i'm going to go over it again what you need to do is cover the back of your paper in graphite you want to go in multiple directions so you're really filling the pores of the back side of the paper the graphite is going to transfer and create a carbon copy is what they call that but basically making our own carbon paper so once you've got it completely covered you're going to take and lay your linoleum block paper whatever you're trying to transfer onto so i'm going to hold this in place really well and i'm going to sketch my entire design with pencil you don't have to push entirely too hard you want to make sure you're pushing it hard enough to transfer your image on linoleum you want to be careful not to push too hard you all right might have seen me go over some things more than once you just want to really make sure you've got all your details and when you lift up you created a carbon copy of it face forward you might have to go back in and add some stronger details so you can see a little bit better for carving otherwise it's a pretty good transfer of what you've got
