In this video, we will look at how to add CC and BCC fields in Mail Merge, using Word. Microsoft Office has robust Mail Merge, but it does lack some vital features. That is why we will use the help of Mail Merge Toolkit! A powerful add-in for Outlook, which provides many additional features. Let's imagine a scenario, that we need to send personalized mailout to sales managers. That’s simple enough, we just add them in the TO field. We also need to send a carbon copy (a simple copy of the email) to corresponding supervisors. And will add our Archiving Bot in the blind carbon copy, hiding it from other recipients. So, we got the Mail Merge template open in Word. For our recipient’s list - we will use a simple Excel spreadsheet. To add it we go to the Mailings tab - Select Recipients - Use an Existing List - and choose our Excel spreadsheet. This way we will be able to add Merge Fields that later will be replaced with the data from the spreadsheet. Now, instead of the default Finish and Merge, we use another button added to the ribbon - Merge and Send. Here we see all new settings added by the Mail Merge Toolkit. We check that the correct email is used in the TO Field. Here we add the Sales Manager Merge Field. Fill out the CC Field. Here we add the Sales Supervisor Merge Field. And fill the BCC Field. Here we add our Archiving Bot. Since it`s a single address, we will add it manually. Next, we will fill the Subject Line, using a Merge Field. And that is it! Just like in a regular email! To finally launch the Mail Merge - we click the Send Messages button. Right now, the Mail Merge Toolkit composes the emails, adds CC and BCC, and places the emails in the Outlook Outbox Folder.
