ColorSource consoles offer three types of recording targets: Playback Memories, Playback Sequences, and Cues. We're going to record a Playback Sequence. Playback Sequences are Cue Lists, but they are recorded to Playback Faders instead of the main Cue List position. They are most often used when you need to build a chase effect. Or any other kind of looping Cue List that you want to have executed on that separate fader. Before we start setting up our looks we're going to have to tell the console that we're about to record one of these Sequences. So first things first, we hit {Record/Edit}. We choose record {Playback Sequence} and then we choose the target fader for our Sequence. And I will choose number {20} so it's easy to find later on. Now you are in the Record Sequence Editing Mode, or Creation Mode rather, where we can select our lights and manipulate them as much as we need to in order to create the steps of our chase. I'm going to create a very simple chase. Everything that I do right now could be Intensity Control, could be Color Control, it could be Moving Light Control, it doesn't matter. Just so long as you set up the stage to look the way you want it in each step. You'll notice that the console has flipped itself out of Playback Mode on the faders into Channel Mode. So I can bring up a light. I can change that light’s color. You'll notice that the {Record} button is red and that the outline of the screen is in red. That's because we are in this Recording Mode. You can also see very faintly that we're recording the first step that it's superimposed on the controls so I know that I'm in this special state of the console. Now I've got this guy in the settings that I want to have. I can press the {Store & New} key. Very faintly on the screen it says record 2.0. It's leaving me in this programming state and I can now make changes. Like turn the light green. {Store & New}. I'm just going to create a quick color chase here. Pick a blue color. Now I'm done. I can hit {Store & Exit}. And I've created a three color chase, essentially, on Playback number 20. When I bring up Playback 20 you'll see that the LED underneath that fader is in yellow. Yellow indicates that there is a Sequence on that fader. Remember that our other Playback color here is purple. So when it's purple it's a single look. And yellow is a stepping sequential style of playback and you can see on our stage that we have a nice slow smooth color chase happening as Playback 20 runs through it's three different color steps. If you don't want to program these looks individually by selecting lights and setting up all their parameters you can also play back Playback Memories to create a Sequence. Just...
