video background

199 085 2015-2019 form

what is going on guys so today I'm going to talk about the different pieces of the army OCP uniform and what it actually means so this video is the second video in the little series that I'm doing comparing the different uniforms and kind of explain what things actually mean whenever it comes to the actual army uniform so you kind of know this stuff before you actually go into the military or you just kind of know this stuff in general so you know if you see a soldier walking down the street you kind of know a few things about them what they've done you know some of the schools that they've been to and whatnot I was going to do this video in conjunction with the Army Class A and Class B uniforms talking about you know what all the different stuff means but I thought that I would kind of make a little bit of a shorter one talking about the OCP uniform which is the army combat uniform and explaining some of the different stuff as far as where like what is this stuff that people are wearing on their chest why do some people have it why do some people not have it you know for example for me why do I have an airborne you know tab on my sleeve but I don't have an Airborne School up here on my chest alright so first things first just so you guys know I'm not obviously going to address every single school that you can go to in the military if you want to look that up you know I can provide a link down the description for you guys if you want to look at all the different badges and stuff that you can get if I were to cover all of that stuff then this video would get really long and honestly I don't even know what some of the schools could even be but I'm gonna cover the basics of what you're going to see 99% of the time on uniforms right so the first thing that you guys should know if you had no clue right so are the different patches on your uniform you see some people with a patch on one arm and not a patch with an other arms you might see some soldiers with patches on both arms like what the heck is going on here right so when you're looking at a soldier the left shoulder the left sleeve of the soldier is going to designate what unit the soldier is currently in right what unit they are currently in on this sleeve you are also going to see if they have Airborne Ranger sappers Special Forces Tech's right so all these different types they can have that can be over top of the unit patch you're gonna be able to see that right it's gonna you know if they have a range of time you're like okay this person has been to Ranger School they're a part of this unit they have a Special Forces tab you're like okay this person is in Special Forces you can obviously see that by the Special Forces you know unit patch it's a very like known patch to military there's a lot of like patches in the military that you kind of like okay I know what this is I like I know that a second airborne are no Special Forces patches of another 75th and all all like the major ones most people just can they just know that for example my patch some people know that this is a civil affairs patch which actually comes with the airborne one right so whenever I wear that some people are curious I'll talk about it like right now this is like my actual game pants it comes with the airborne I haven't been to every one school so I don't actually have Airborne School up here so if you see somebody who's got airborne on their sleeve but they don't have you on chest that just means it's really just a part of their unit patch versus them actually going to Airborne School now the right sleeve is where you're going to find the combat patch whenever you get this patch it might be different you know you might see a soldier they have a different one then the left side you might see some soldiers that have the same patch on both sides and it's like what the heck is going on here the right side is a combat patch if you get deployed it does not necessarily mean that you're going to get a combat patch so if you look at a soldier and see that he doesn't have anything those rights sleep that doesn't necessarily mean that that soldier has not been deployed it just means that they have not been deployed into a combat zone you want this to have to be in combat to actually get a comment patch but like being deployed to you know to Afghanistan or something for example like you know you're going to get a combat patch even though you have been in combat you're just in a combat zone now for the combat patch you can wear the patch of the unit that you were in when you were deployed into that combat zone now if you've got multiple deployments into multiple different combat zones with multiple different units then that means that you can really kind of just pick and choose whichever one you want so if you've been deployed into a combat zone with a second airborne and then you weren't deployed later in your career into a combat zone with another unit that's not really like a well-known unit then you can still wear the 82nd airborne even though that's not like the current unit that you're in now before I get into the different school badges that you're gonna be wearing over your left chest where you're gonna have US Army I want to cover like the two main things that you might see on a soldier's like you know abdomen stomach area right I'm going to throw up some pictures for you guys the two main things that you're gonna see are the drill sergeant patch and the recruiter patch these are two main ones there could be more but these are the two main ones that you're going to see the drill sergeant one is that this will defend and then the army recruiter it just says something about like army recruiting or something I don't even know but this will defend is like the drill sergeants you know like slogan I pretty well know which is why I know that but you're gonna see that in whenever you see down somebody that doesn't mean that they're currently a drill sergeant or they're currently a recruiter it just means that they are currently a drill sergeant are currently a recruiter or they were at some point in the past in their career so you can see that me like okay this guy used to be a drill sergeant now it all makes sense of why he acts the way he does right or this guy is a recruiter now it makes sense you know why the way he acts the way he does right so that's that now the next thing I want to cover is the school badges and again I'm gonna cover the the different main ones that you're gonna see as well as some of the other badges that don't necessarily have to do with different schools so now I'm covering some of the different badges that you might get right here that don't have to do with going to like Airborne School for example I'll throw up some pictures so you guys can see you know exactly what I'm talking about but if you're an introduced soldier there's this thing called like an expert infantryman's badge and what you have to do to get that is every now and again they will have this expert infantryman's like competition thing and you're going to go through that and if you pass if you succeed at it then you're going to get your expert infantryman badge and you can wear it on your left chest above your u.s. army name tape the only thing that you can get that doesn't actually have to do with the school is your CA beep right it's your Combat Action badge this means that you are in or really close to combat whenever you are deployed into a combat zone so let's say you were overseas and all of a sudden you got into a real quick firefight that designates obviously that you can get a combat action badge let's say you're overseas and a mortar round lands I believe more than 50 meters of you you get a combat action badge for that let's say that you are overseas and you know they were you know there was some gunshots just like way off in the distance you don't get one for that because you want to actually involve with the combat there and then the other thing I want to say when it comes to the Combat Action badge is it's different based upon a fewer infantry versus if you are not inventory if you're on infantry your Combat Action badge is it going to have a rifle with like a little reef I'll show you guys a picture and if you are not infantry then you're going to have a knife with a little wreath and that's gonna be the difference between those two and that's how you can tell really quickly with a soldier who's got their OCP uniform if they were infantry at the point in time or currently infantry whenever they got that badge now the other common things that you're gonna see on your chest or on a soldier's test is the airborne school badge you're probably gonna see Air Assault badges and then some of the lesser-known or less common ones that you might actually see are like the aviation rigger badges the you know like water diving badge you know there's gonna be all these different badges that you can give different schools of stuff that you can go to that you can put on your chest I'm gonna have the links in the description I'll probably throw a picture of something as well because I haven't memorized all of them there's really no need to because you're not gonna really see you know very often anything besides the airborne Air Assault I see the parachute rigger one pretty regularly I used to be in a rigger unit or an older bigger unit so it wasn't a bigger unit but it used to be if that makes any sense so I saw a lot of people with that and then you might see some with like the medical badge that's another thing that you might see this little bit common but aside from that you don't see all that many differences right there every now and then you might see one alright so that is the gist of the Army OCP uniform went on a little bit longer than I expected I'm super glad I didn't do the ASU uniform with that so that one's probably gonna be a doozy whenever I do it but anyways I hope you guys learned something today I hope you guys enjoyed the video if you did hit that like button that'd be awesome check out some more of my videos hit that subscribe button that would be even better follow me on Instagram snapchat if you haven't already if you haven't what you're doing I'm just kidding I just post stuff about you know my normal lights and things and stories and and whatnot I'm not really doing any military YouTube related stuff on there just sharing you guys nonsense but anyways I hope you guys have an amazing freaking day and I will see you at Lee Music Music Applause Music
