hey guys welcome to Merc let's Josh Tony Ridge farmer we got a crew working on the farm this is day number two of the work crew working out and smoothing out our front yard back there right back there so come along with me I'll show you what we're doing day number two here in the front yard of the house smoothing out and getting up stumps and they're working on getting one of the biggest rocks and the whole farm up right now it's pretty cool come on let's check it out Music new h-bomb so behind me is an excavator there is a rock right here hold on I'm gonna take you over here and show you this thing there is a rock as big as a freaking house right here and they're gonna have to get it out sitting right here it is huge huge they just took this one out and there's a hole it's about six feet deep this is a Stoney Ridge farm because there's a lot of stones on this Ridge and the guy told me just now he said I think I'd call it Rocky Ridge Farm instead of thorny Ridge because you're not stones they're rocks so we kind of got a little dance going on here this is like ballet guys this guy plucks out the rocks throws them in the bucket either takes them and pushes them over the hill and or puts them over here as landscaping and I'm having them pick out these rocks out and put them over down by the creek down by where I'm going to build a fence so it'll be beautiful landscaping when you pull down the road you'll see a Stoney Ridge so it should be pretty awesome this is our dirt road right back here behind us and it's not really dirt it's a gravel road state maintained you couldn't even see this before we cut the trees so this is not the final step guys if you look right there this is a huge pile of brush okay this is all the stumps that we're excavating out with this big machine and then we're pushing them with the loader where's the finger there it is right there we're pushing them off over the embankment over here and filling in some big holes that we had it's working out really good this area was all hills and hollers hollers if you don't know what a holler is it's a country word for a big hole so anyhow it was all hills and valleys and hollers and canyons if you want to call them canyons washed out areas here that we needed to get fixed and we wanted to make our yard a bigger more beautiful place so day number two so if you haven't yet watched yesterday's vlog boom boom right here watch it first so you can see how much progress these guys have made over a one day period this area is about hmm I'm gonna say two and a half acres something like that and we're clearing it to make pasture and front yard and make the place more beautiful so we've got about a two and a half acre spot here maybe three then another acre so over here this side and then another 80-something acres to do this to so right here behind me is what it did look like in these areas that these guys are working big stumps sticking up not really big but fairly big stump sticking up and basically they roll those stumps up and then we're pushing them out and smoothing the area over and right here behind me is where they're rolling all the stumps too and then they'll put dirt on roll the stumps over put dirt on and basically build up what is a hole now into beautiful flat pasture pretty cool Music Oh so the way this works is he pulls a stump out back here and it kind of tosses it a couple times to knock all the dirt out of the stump before they roll it off down the hill or we burn it up in a big pile these guys are working really close to me so I'm going to get my butt out of here so it's kind of neat the way this works he picks up the stumps rolls them out and then he'll push them over to the side and basically we just do this it's just a tedious digging process that goes on over the next probably two weeks or so and we'll get all this land cleared off then we'll get some grass seed in here and we'll use a no-till seed drill that we get from our County to seed the soil and get some grass going so should be pretty cool pretty fun just thought I'd take you guys and show you day number two here and the progress that's gone on really it really looks good thanks for watching guys click that like button leave me some comments tell me what you think I appreciate you come on back and see me this is Josh dirty rich farmer whoo don't ring Music Pierce we had some way suppose Denise Tony Reed Oh of course I think the question going through everybody's mind is what is this costing this is $200 an hour guys so that's what the cost is here to have these guys come out and clear this land 200 bucks an hour we're taking the money from our timber cutting and we're using it for their in the land good thing
