hi i'm kim max simon jones director of market strategy i am south african living in london and i've been with murrad for just over four years now i head up our platform as a service business i look at opportunities in new markets i lead the go to market strategy i also head up our new business team so the team responsible for bringing in new partners and new customers most excitingly for me i work with the rest of the team on evolving our product and service offering and looking for new opportunities to innovate for over 20 years myriad has been a provider of technology to mobile network operators across the african continent we have a proud history of enabling digital services and in particular digital financial services so myriad enables mobile money operations in over 14 countries in africa ue in the past have worked with the likes of facebook wikipedia twitter to provide their services to people who don't have access to the internet and most recently we have been partnering with mobile network operators to enable the digital ecosystem and really help drive digital transformation in certain markets when we're talking digital transformation we're not talking about mobile apps or services that are delivered over the internet because the reality in many of the markets of myriad operates in particularly in western central africa less than half of the population has access to the internet so myriad is working with pioneering mobile network operators to open up access to their ussd networks for brands and enterprises to develop ussd mobile services and those services are then available to everyone so no matter what device your customer may have or whether they have access to a data connection they can get access to those mobile services and this really helps those brands and enterprises reach previously inaccessible parts of the population when we are looking at these markets and in fact the majority of any market really in sub-saharan africa the most prevalently used financial service is mobile money so again we work with mobile network operators to really help scale and grow their mobile money operations by making their mobile money services available to enterprises and merchants to use their mobile money services to facilitate payments for goods and services we really are at the core of enabling digital services and digital payments in the markets that we work in um and it's exciting to see the way that technology uh is used to solve problems and make improvements to people's lives every day so our cloud platform has launched in four countries over the last year so in cote d'ivoire in senegal in mali and most recently in democratic republic of congo so the challenge for the business really is uh scaling and growing our cloud platform while supporting our customers to scale and grow their own businesses and also ensuring that our product and service offering is meeting the demands of the...
