are you looking for a smartsheet formula to count if a checkbox is checked well if that's the case then you've come to the right place because today I'm going to be showing you exactly what you need to do but before I show you it I do just want to quickly mention that I do have a smartsheet formula course that is now available so I will leave a link in the description for that below so if you want to you know learn how to completely Master smartsheet formulas then that course is for you but without further Ado let's look into the formula so what I've done here is I've just created a brand new sheet and all I've done is put in some really really basic dummy data simply put in a one and a two in the formula column we're going to be building the formula down here and I've also obviously put in the column here that is a check box so I've changed the column properties and I've changed it to a checkbox just so you know how I got to this particular place um and of course if you don't have any data uh in here into these columns then you won't see the checkbox that's why I've obviously put this data in here just for your kind of information so let's say I want to I want to count any time that this is checked so this this column here so what we need to do is we need to use an if formula so it's very very basic all you need to do let's put let's put the formula in here um equals if Open brackets Now The Logical expression will be you need to put the cell reference and so that will be this so I'm going to click here so if this cell equals one yes comma no so these are the two values if it's true or false so close brackets so yes so that's the answer that is the formula so what we're basically saying here just to kind of summarize it is if this is checked say yes if it's not checked say no so if I drag this down and this is now looking in this particular cell it's saying no because it's not checked and if I check this now it's going to say yes uncheck it no so you get the idea here now if we break it down further what I would just like to quickly mention is one is the equivalent of a of a check box that is checked so you always need to put one in here however you could change this to whatever you want it to say so you could literally do something like this checked or not checked or completed not completed so that's something to bear in mind as well um the other potential option which I'll just quickly show you before we finish...
