so patty i really had enjoyed our conversation uh with kevin from retail cloud i actually didn't even know that retail cloud was going after restaurants but here they got some of this amazing cutting edge order technology and ticketing and just a bunch of really cool stuff yeah really cool in fact like you i did not realize they were going after the restaurant um vertical until they approached me and said hey we have this cool qr code technology we're using you know are you interested in talking about it and i was really glad i learned a lot i know you learned a lot yeah i did i did tell us about the insiders uh interchange under attack from federal regulators um you know james and i have a pretty long discussion about that but i think the message is that you know it's very possible that regulation could be coming um and there needs you know there's going to be some changes i think yeah and this in case you're wondering like this is super relevant to you as an individual sales rep or iso owner or executive i mean this is like this is a slippery slope so yeah this is scary stuff this is game over industry stuff that we got to keep an eye on because if this happens the wrong way it's a big problem so and and you know and the fact is is that you know let's not forget the merchants have really large lobbying forces yes we need to sort of start channeling you know this industry needs to start channeling it's it's it's resources yeah um towards fending off something like this yeah and at least being aware of it so yeah then the questions from the field um i gave some kind of random thoughts today of some ideas that people are just not doing and so i talk about this reality as we shift as an industry towards integrated payments verticalization what's happening is everybody understands that's the direction we're going but nobody seems to be doing anything about it especially the individual agents and the isos so i talked today about two things that you can actually do to dramatically increase retention to partner with your sales people to really take advantage of the trend it's like we don't nobody needs to guess we all know the direction it's going so the question is how are you going to profit from it and that's what i talk about today is two ways we can do that um this episode is brought to you by valor paytech uh really the leader in omnichannel technology for that small to medium merchant out there and especially as it relates to cash discounting so processor agnostic check them out and by the way let me mention they are going to be at all of the shows this year they are the headline sponsor of every single show so definitely...
