all right welcome back everybody so you've clicked on this because you just got the notice that you're gonna be on reserve for the holiday season again this year throughout your hopeful week or two a vacation you have to be on call to go do an inventory count somewhere out and be Fe some cold-ass warehouse and you probably think that sucks and it does but just remember kind of if if you're going that route mentally if you're not too happy with it just remember that most of the people that are with the firm that are asking you to do this they've all been through it it's not it's not something that that your manager or senior hasn't done before and that's kind of a generally good lesson when you see a manager leave or a senior do something you're like what the hell why do they get to do that it's just a good idea to remember that that those people have been in your shoes to sew things there's there's perks with being a first and second year that a that it may be a senior or manager don't get but then there's there's perks the other way too there's perks that managers and seniors get that all that staff don't necessarily get anyways I'm rambling and you didn't click to hear about that I can save that for another episode inventory counts so whether it is a Christmas inventory count or a New Year's inventory count maybe it's just in the middle of the year some random time they it can be a little tricky through my first two years I think it did 21 inventory counts probably 10 of those right around the holiday I always tried to make the best of them because usually it's at some weird weird location but you get to drive there and stay in a hotel and no no you can try to make the best of it so anyways what is the purpose of of an inventory count the purpose is to is to watch the clients process to observe the clients process for counting that's kind of a big piece to remember that that you're not there to test their inventory balance for directly it's not like doing a it's not like running a sampling plan over a balance and then testing that stuff for existence you're you're testing your sword a testing management's process and you are doing substantive testing in that during that but but this is important because in a perfect inventory observation the count you should get there while the count is kind of winding down so to speak well let's let's even say better in a perfect inventory count you see them start deliver the instructions get written copy of the instructions and then also see them kind of finish the reason for that is your counts should be recounts of what the client has already done it shouldn't be...
