hey guys this is barbara from inspired paper and designs so today i'm doing something a little different first of all you can see my face so um i'm excited to try to show more of my face during 2021 so we'll see what happens and the second thing is um i'm going to teach you guys how to very quickly create a more customized notebook using lulu.com so the um templates that i just created which will be available i'll drop the link below the video these are which i'm very excited about um this is one of a set of templates that i'm working on so these are my affirmation um templates and they will be available for purchase as a pdf file so that all you have to do is um upload and worry about or focus on i should say creating a cover so these are the templates it's 120 pages total and this is actually part two i had to break it up into different parts so this is part two as you can see and then i have part one as well part one comes with a cover page and the cover page just says this notebook belongs to and then every other page is an affirmation so just to give you um an idea of what it looks like and i know the font will probably be kind of small but i can go ahead and like read it to you and it's in alphabetical order as far as the um different affirmations so you have the notebook belongs to page and then you have copyright right here then it says i am amazing i am awesome i am beautiful i am blessed i am bold i am brave confident compassionate etc so i wanted to do something a little different to make your notebook stand out from the crowd because everyone has like the blank line notebook but this one has affirmations it doesn't get in the way of writing for people that love to write it so it still has the notebook or journal feel but it just has affirmations on it just to you know give it a little pop of fabulousness so that it doesn't look like everyone else's notebook okay and again it frees you up to be able to focus more on your cover so i've already downloaded this as a pdf and when you purchase it it's just going to be a straight pdf of 120 pages okay so we're going to go on over to lulu and i'm going to i'm already signed in cool so i'm going to go to my project so once you're um you have an account and you're signed in you're good you would just um go ahead and create a project so from here i am going to create a print book i am going to print my own book instead of um publishing it through lulu sample um usually for the project title i put sample that's why i said sample but i think i'm going to name this one um my affirmations notebook okay for language i'll go ahead and choose english let me see if i can type it in and find it faster there we go and i'm not going to do a book category i think there is one that they have called journals if i'm not mistaken let me see or notebooks or something to that effect oh it's not in alphabetical order hold on let me see so this would be more so if i wanted to set up shop on lulu and let them do the publishing for me notebooks and journals there we go okay so design your project all right so from here i am going to do upload your pdf file and here it is right here so that's going to take a few moments to upload so it says your upload was a success so you already know that once you buy my file it's already lulu compatible all you got to do is upload um scroll down it's eight and a half by eleven we're going to do black and white standard because it's no you know it's no it's nothing detailed like this it's just words so black and white standard is fine for lulu i'm gonna do 60 on white instead of coated to make it easier for writing i'm going to do coil down and i like the glossy finish it makes it it gives it that shiny finish that i love and you see here that to print that is going to be i popped up with 574. okay it popped up that's 574 if i'm not mistaken i'm not sure why it went back but let's see let's keep going and see what happens so now it's telling me to download a template for my cover i've already downloaded one before so i just need to find it on canva but we know right here it says 17.25 by 11.25 so i'm going to go to canva i'm just going to create a design and i'm going to use um their dimension 17.25 11.25 and this is inches i'm going me have to do it again yes 17.25 by 11.25 okay and if i'm not mistaken i should already have the template that is telling you to download right here i already have uploaded to canva so let me see if i can find it all right let's see if i can find it in my uploads see if this is it yep this is it all right so i'm going to stretch this out and i'm going to make this a little bit bigger so that you can see so this is the template that lulu gives you so this is for my coil so i don't have to worry about um the spine because there is no spine so let's see i did do a design that i want to go ahead and try let me see if i can find it and let's see i just did it i hope i can't find it oh i have to unlock it that's why it's not showing so i just did um so i'm designing covers as well that will be available online in my shop that i'll drop the link to and so i'm working on doing different types of offering different types of digital paper to make it easier for you guys to design your cover and this is one of the ones that i've created so let's see i did extract it let's see if it worked there it is so this is um one of the ones that i worked on and it's all words and i just put the design so you would just get the word cover and then i just added an image to it so here you go this image i got from coco twins so i'm going to stretch this out to here and then if you purchase the word art you would actually get this that's over here on the left without the cocoa twins image so i just need to tweak it a little bit there we go all right so as you can see the words that i chose for this one is i am enough i am unique and i am worthy so again this will also be in my shop as well for purchase so i have this down here so i'm going to go ahead and delete lulu's cover i am going to name this um i just call it affirmations cover i say affirmation words notebook cover okay all right so i'm gonna go ahead and i'm gonna download this as a pdf print so i'm downloading that and if you hear my kids in the background tonight is friday night they they watch friday night raw i think it is together as a family so i will be joining them in a few minutes because i promised them i would but i wanted to get this video out to you guys so i went ahead and i downloaded the cover so now we're going to upload now there it is okay so let's see if that will go through okay it says your image contains your file contains images with resolution of less than 200 pixels they suggest you know two to six hundred that has to do with the sizing in the way that i did the imaging as far as making the cover so that's not a big deal because if it was it wouldn't let me upload it and see right here saying it successfully uploaded so it's saying it might not be as clear excuse me as it could be and i know the reason why is because instead of me doing this whole thing from scratch i just pulled over the png files that i created on canva and downloaded so that's why so if i would have made this whole thing from scratch it wouldn't be a problem okay so i'm going to go ahead and see what it looks like so this is what it looks like so this is my cover and then this would be the first page and then when you turn the page you'll see the copy right down here you'll see you know i am amazing over here and let's see if i can make this a little bit so i can still there you go so i'm gonna go ahead and make this i'm gonna zoom my screen out a little bit just so that you guys can um see it all right there we go and this is what you would get so you already see that is within the margins you see how it looks and let me just jump to the end and this would be the last page okay so then i will go ahead and review book is saying that it's ready uh confirm that you know i like the way everything looks a cost again is 554 this is the eight and a half by 11 spiral bound book and i would just add it to cart because i would definitely want to order a sample and i think i am going to go ahead and order a sample and when it comes in i'll come back and do a video showing you guys what the sample looks like okay let me see so it's added to cart and i did it twice as you can see so i would just make that one obviously and i will go ahead and continue to check out okay so that's just showing you guys how to um upload a book or how to create a book on lulu using my affirmation pages again all the links for purchasing the cover and also purchasing the pdf file will be dropped
