hey guys how's it going as jewel tolentino here alright so in this video I'm gonna be talking about an issue you might be having in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC where you try to fill in a field but it ends up duplicating itself in other fields so you type in one field and then it's also typing in the same thing in other fields as well alright so I'm here with an example form right here and you want to make sure that you're in prepare forms if you don't know how to get there open up your form document in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and then once you get in there head over to prepare form if you don't see it on the bar here head over to more tools and then click on prepare form and you'll know that you're in prepare form is when you see all of these kinds of icons here at the top so I had this issue initially and I also had someone comment on a previous YouTube video where they're trying to type into a field but it's also typing into the exact same field but they're only typing into one field and I'll show you what I mean so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to duplicate this field right here so I'm gonna copy and a copy and then there's another one and I'll just place it here just as an example and I'll head over to preview and I'll type hello and you'll see that even though I typed into one field it also shows up in this field as well and the reason for that is because I've duplicated the same field so they have the same properties because they have the same name so you see how it says here legal name of business legal name of business I'll go back to preview and I'll just delete this text and I'll head back to edit the reason why that these are typing in the same thing is because they're basically a duplicate of each other and they share the same properties so to get rid of that because you might be duplicating many things you might have a whole bunch of the same Road just to save time right to fill in all all the textbox spaces but if you don't change the name they're still going they're going to share the same text properties so what you need to do is actually change the name of it and you can do something like by adding a 1 just as long as they're different they're going to be different so let's say you have like a whole table or something a row table something like this and this was all the same thing that you duplicated you would need to change the name of each one so like I did here I added a 1 2 3 now if I go to preview and I type in hello it's not gonna go in the other boxes my name is jewel okay so it's now there now separate because the name of the textbox is separate so I had to learn that the hard way when I was doing a form and there was a whole bunch of rows of the same text box and I thought I was being smart by saving time by copying and pasting and duplicating everything but I didn't realize that you actually have to change the name of each text box so that it has different properties and all you do is you double click go to name and change the name and it's as simple as adding in a number or something else in there so that is how you solve the issue if you are trying to type in a field and it is also typing into the other field as well so that is a quick fix on that problem if you guys like these kinds of Adobe Acrobat videos check out the description down below I have a bunch more tutorials for you guys so if I was able to help you out at all please let me know by giving this video a like a comment or subscribe all that would be very much appreciated thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video
