[Music] it's prince but i feel like i could do a good job at bringing it back to life first i'll drag this into ableton and just see where we're at and i'll give it a quick mix because it doesn't sound good let's be honest it needs some love um when i'm approaching a track like this i like to sort of warp it in ableton i just think the algorithms are really good [Music] crazy so yeah i'm not needs it those vocals are cutting through really harsh so here's what we're taking out all of those horrible sounds [Music] i'm not gonna worry about you know we're missing so much top end because bit wider roto cab might be good definitely lift it up a little bit this is how you save a bad sounding mix guys um we could do a bit of saturation the fabfilter saturn is a good place if you want to add some shine without using eq um yeah i really like the clean tube setting that boosts a lot of highs definitely helping okay i think we're in all right place to start writing to that so this is this is supposed to be a side chain with the kick [Music] so i'm using big kick for these kick drums it's like a kink kick synthesizer yeah you can do stuff like this [Music] nice me me that was a fun little jam i didn't actually record any of that i was just having fun sometimes i like to just jam out on the 808 and then feel my way through it and then you know i'll know if an edit is possible i think this one is possible let's see if we can get a little structure going [Music] so i'm just panning that capacitor super left and right so this is what it's like without and with it just basically delays one of the speakers sound is sick it's so fast but i'm i'm in high energy crew big tree energy everyone jeez it's a nice little trick for you there guys with your 909 hats i got on the volume envelope hold all the way up from these two all the way down and it means as long as you hold the key the hat will sound and if you let go of the key it'll be short so you can do this really cool like i want that hat to be as filthy as possible get a little shaker i need to dirty that up but that's kind of sounding good so this is the kind of thing i'd like to do just for fun you know i don't know what this would be for been doing this for 10 years now so it's nice to do different stuff just for fun because if you ain't doing this for fun anymore after 10 years what are you doing always overdrive your shakers always like big time that distortion for me just reminds me of like how a shaker sounds on a seven inch record you know just breaks up always trying to emulate that sound but you just can't get it unless you're listening off a seven inch record it doesn't happen that's pretty close though that's not [Music] bad let's get some click on that kick bit of top end sick now we chorus or that sounds terrible on its own but in the mix it's slamming geez so fast all right bit of structure i want to play with that filter a bit more as well [Music] so [Music] that's better i
