hello i'm lyle ripaki from prescott arizona reporting for prescott e news in arizona today my special guest is arizona state senator sonny borrelli now you've all seen senator braley a couple of times on here and i keep getting a lot of emails saying can he come back i don't know why but you keep asking for him to come back and he's listening to everything i'm saying right now and it's not very often you get to mess with a senator so i'm taking advantage on behalf of we the people all of us senator barely and i have been i've known him for about 10 years and we've been privileged to work together with the giuliani team and members of the white house these past i think 12 weeks maybe 11 over the whole issue dealing with voter fraud alleged voter fraud and other irregularities and so it's a great great privilege to have senator barely with us today and to give us an update on what's taking place in arizona senator thank you so much for putting up with me and and coming back and sharing with us what's taking place with the arizona senate well thank you uh dr lyle i'm taking the lead from mark levan i'm in a understood building and an uh on an underground bunker and a nondescript building here in the occupied state of maricopa which means phoenix folks for uh all those that are out there outside of the uh arizona territory the last bastion of freedom in the united states arizona a really senator from uh literally all over we've been inundated with a very very supportive emails from every state just about i might miss a couple but i i'm not being theatrical we have been inundated ladies and gentlemen thank you so very much i i don't want to take the time today because we have the senator with us but thank you so much your emails the support the recognition of what we're doing we do know that the senator knows this and he'll speak to this 15 other states are watching legislatures are watching because arizona has taken the lead in holding at least one county in arizona accountable for what is seriously questioning the results of the recent election so without further ado senator could you bring us up to date on what the arizona senate has just done this week to request a very serious very formal very thorough evaluation of maricopa county arizona that's the phoenix area for folks who are now becoming acquainted with us uh an evaluation of the voting machines ballots tabulations and all matters related to the last election yes sir thank you uh yes well well obviously i don't know if you've you've briefed everybody before but the we subpoena the maricopa county supervisors for all this uh all the election data uh they they chose to fight us in court and then finally they just basically surrendered and they acknowledged the uh the sovereign authority of the state legislature uh so we did not have they did not have to have a court uh tell them so and we of course we didn't have to uh pass a resolution holding them into contempt and eventually having to arrest them if they didn't comply so we're glad that they complied they're going to give us access to all the the election data that we're we're requesting but right now what we're doing is we're going through the process process of selecting the the organizations or companies to actually conduct the audit so we're looking at maybe like two companies or two two institutions whatever so this way make sure you're making sure that both audits basically the checkbook balances so we make sure we get the same outcome from from two i think that's a good way of doing it rather than just one because then you can always dispute one but if you have two that come out with the same outcome that's then it's it's easy to just shut it down so you know what we're looking for is we're looking for voter voting irregularities if it comes back clean that there was no voter irregularities and everything was done legitimately great we can restore confidence in the election in election integrity and folks will be satisfied with that hopefully not everybody's always going to be satisfied you're still going to have people going to be not satisfied but also if we do find something we need to do this now that's why the sense of urgency is more important now just just as much now as it was before but you know we need we're in legislative session right now and we're running bills through we want to be able to close loopholes uh that may have been exploited during this last election and even previous elections so you know it's always about fixing things uh especially like the permanent early voting uh list which they call pebble well there's nothing permanent about anything in life and i mean legislation you know laws are put on paper and it can be changed the only thing that's permanent is something that's written in stone and that's not even permanent so you know there's a big argument in in committee this last week about pevel being permanent meaning it should be permanent forever well you know we need to if the somebody has a vote in the last four elections and they're on the permanent early voting list uh we need to purge that we need to find out who wants to be active or not so that process is if you haven't voted in the last four elections you'll get a notice and if you don't respond then obviously you're not interested or maybe perhaps you moved or perhaps the person passed away uh so these are the kind of things we're trying to fix but the pushback from the democrats is just unbelievable on that because they call it voter suppression well we're just trying to clean it up it doesn't kick anybody off the rolls you still have three weeks early voting and um you uh you still have three weeks of early voting and uh of course you can vote on election day and uh if you want to be on the early valley if you want to be on mailing list you just you can still request it so let me let me press you um which doesn't happen very often i i appreciate that but let me ask you as in a committee hearing or even in court some questions and uh move right along some of the concerns that the people have are that the board of supervisors are dictating to the senate is that true or not well i'm doing some digging on that they're highly suggesting and requesting that uh but there's some other folks that that are suggesting we should have uh somebody certified by the uh eac the election in whatever the election eac the election uh accuracy commission uh but there's there's some question about that because i believe they actually approved the voting system dominion system for texas until texas figured out this is not working so you know we're looking at different options and uh we're not really steadfast on on that it was requested by suggested by you know senate lawyers and stuff like that but uh you know we want to make sure that we don't have some fly-by-night people coming in there and doing an inspection i mean we don't want a slot machine mechanic and come in there and say oh this is this is good we have to make sure experts are on there this particularly is cyber security because cyber security is another issue here on this on this that has come to everybody's attention because if cyber these things are not supposed to be hooked up to the internet if they're hooked up to the internet and it got sent into cyberspace where did that data go did the data get changed tomorrow my understanding and is that both you and senator fans senator karen fann president of the state senate both of you and i know i'm going to be in trouble for this because i'm singling the two of you out but there are other senators also ladies and gentlemen i but senator barely is here with us you and president fan are both holding the line to make certain that the integrity of this evaluation is intact correct we want the results we want the results to be not questionable we want it to be done right that way it's hands down either way okay thank you now because this has gone on for so long the debate you and i have been involved in this for several weeks behind the scenes working trying to get people to understand why this is so important it's not so much it gotcha nothing right right there's a problem then let's find out if there's not a problem let's all go out and have coffee and bagels if there is a problem that's for the legislature then to figure out what are you going to do next to maintain or to recreate the integrity of our election between the time we began this discussion weeks ago and today is it possible or even probable that the machines the ballots and all that have been tampered with i would think that it would be extremely foolish if they tampered with it because that could be identified uh if they change any data there's going to be a signature on that and that's going to be i mean they'd really be messing up because now they're definitely voted violating federal election laws data cannot be changed it has to be maintained for 22 months if they try to erase or uh modify or tamper with it in any way uh that's a huge red flag and that's a violation of the federal law that would actually throw that i believe that would throw the election out and both of us have been briefed correct me if i'm wrong ladies and gentlemen uh both of us the senator and i and a couple of others we've been briefed weeks ago that uh just like the senator said if there was any tampering in any way shape or form uh that would be uh able to be evaluated it would show up as uh tampering with a potential crime scene correct sure exactly and yeah so i mean somebody would go to jail for that i'm just trying to try to respond to a lot of emails from across the country that i think are very sincere people are worried they're also cheering arizona on uh they're cheering the legislator on in arizona because at this point in time at least the arizona legislature the senate has taken the lead and there's 15 other states that their suggestions that they've been compromised the electoral process has been compromised again as you and i have been briefed on all this all right yes and thank you because when we had the that hearing the joint hearing out in town basically downtown phoenix which actually worked out great it actually worked out better because had we had that at the state capital because of covet restrictions we would have it all been done via zoom which would have been really tough too and we wouldn't i don't think we've had the uh magnitude and uh uh exposure to what everybody was complaining about and said and wanted to testify on so it worked out really good because that actually helped me get a senate hearing pushed and then of course we senate president called for a senate hearing uh through the judiciary and then the chairman was representing excuse me senator eddie farnsworth so which opened the door up because i kept pushing for uh you know we find something in this hearing i think we need to openly have the options open for a subpoena a lot of states don't realize that state legislators realize that they have this power particularly on something that's that's guaranteed and specified in the constitution on this on this election uh the elections are strictly to the state legislatures in this u.s constitution in our own constitution that we the state legislature pretty much is judging jury on this not the executive branch of the judicial branch a lot of folks don't realize the authority that we have vested in the constitution it's enshrined in the constitution so you know it's about educating folks and hopefully the other states say uh they follow suit and do the same thing because this is about election integrity okay the election's over with you know we need to move on okay yeah we need to move on but we need to start looking at wait a minute we want to make sure that we don't ever have this issue ever come up again we have to put this to bed so if there was if the election was bad we find that there is a smoking gun on dominion and all that other stuff we need i we need to expose that and that's another thing that goes into that goes over to the judiciary but for anything is the state legislature has the authority and the responsibility to fix that make sure it never ever happens again ever ever and one of the things that has happened and i've shared this on the program before uh people have asked why is it taking so long why is there so much three steps forward and ten back and this and that ladies and gentlemen like the senator just said first of all the legislature itself did not know it had this authority and the power and that was something that had to be uh instructed to legislative leaders and uh you're disagreeing with me i'm disagreeing with you because a lot of us did know that but the problem we were having was we were not in session and when you're not in session we can't we can't do anything even if the governor's going to want to come back disagree with you okay i remember i remember we had these debates right but i also remember one dimension to this was even though the legislature was out of session the legislature still had the authority to do this and raise the question of an emergency yes they did and i agree with you that's that was the part that was debated but it still comes down to the numbers yes this is why it's so important when you look at the the u.s senate i mean it's 50 50 now in the u.s senate right in the state legislature we had 17 republicans in the senate okay uh two of them were never trumpers and they would not have voted for a simple majority to come into session so therefore you're kind of landlocked on that so even if the governor would have called us in for a special session we did not have the 16 votes to pass a resolution to recall the electors and put forth new electors so that's the dilemma that we were in even on the set on the house side they were at 31 republicans in the house that's the majority by one but uh there's i think there was a maybe may have been a couple not never trumpeters there too so that's the dilemma you have and when you're when you're counting heads and noses to see how early where the people stand it's just like this is what one of the problems without being in session because when you're not in session it's the chore to come back into sessions so but if you're in session then it's easier to kind of put people's name up on the board right you know put it up there you don't want you want to vote on this if you don't want to vote you better vote no but we're going to put you up there so you better stand by your what your stand by your vote if you've that was one of the concerns and one of the problems that we had is educating but also taking a look at the process because you were out of session versus in session and then even when you came into session there's just what people don't understand but folks ladies and gentlemen you've been very patient and the senator i think week after week's been helping us understand there's a process involved here it's just not as easy as saying let's do it and have it done by five o'clock tonight there's been a process yes there's been a political side to this but there's also been a legal side and an administrative side and it's all collided and one of the things i think senator you and i talked about weeks ago on air we've never been down this road before the united states uh and so it's not that clean it's not that clear and uh the senator and senator fan i'm sorry president fan of the of the arizona senate you guys have been um uh chipping away at this also because you haven't really had a road map to follow this has been very difficult yeah yeah sometimes it's like herding cats and you're right this has been uncharted territory uh especially on the subpoena thing uh senator farnsworth had been in the legislature for 18 years back and forth from the house you know he was on the house and he came back and that kind of stuff they came over to the senate but he'd been in the legislature for 18 years he'd never seen a subpoena issued and i think maybe 30 years ago it may have happened but i don't even think it went went that far he was with the old legislature the 55th the 54th legislature issued the subpoena and then when the new session started uh the new chairman of the judiciary committee warren peterson issued the new subpoena and of course the supervisors were trying to fight that one say oh no that was the old legislature they don't we this is no no good your honor and of course wait a minute we have a new subpoena and you're still not complying so this is that's when they kind of like they uh lowered their flag and uh and admitted that the state legislature has its sovereign authority over the county so just to reach out so what that means now the process is actually picking up speed okay so let me just recap real quick and before we end where are we at today give me a 30 second where are we at today what we are right now is we're trying to select uh go through and screen all the the possible companies that could be able to do the the audit the forensic audit and i'm pushing for cyber security experts because a lot of things so there's there's a lot of people who are out there and they're saying oh we can do this we can do that but we want to make sure we get the right ones so that's we want to make sure we get the right ones that they they're experts in their field that we get this done as quickly and as painlessly as possible we want this done within days not even weeks we want this done within days maybe a week or two but not weeks and weeks and a month we need to wrap this up and one of the things that we've already talked about but i'm going to do it again here for the on behalf of everybody you and karen fan president fans sorry i've known president fan for a lot of years president fan senator borelli you both have uh dug your heels in and saying we're doing this in an integrous manner we're not going to do it shortcuts quick and dirty we're going to do this we're going to do it the right way and if once an evaluation is picked if we have to have an additional person viewing it to make sure everybody knows that this has been done absolutely above board you're both are willing to do that well as soon as we get the results it's going to be made public period and there's a difference in personalities president fan is a very meticulous person she's gonna she dots every you know every eye every t i mean her her background in transportation construction uh they deal with a lot of that those kind of details uh you know in her expertise anyway she's like i said she's very meticulous and they're her thinking and wanting to select something me i'm the pusher i'm gonna keep pushing pushing pushing uh get you know getting members on board and that's my job and to run cover you know when needed uh to protect our membership and uh to get the job done i'm here to push the mission i want to say that again there's been a lot of criticism on karen fan by or to karen fan president fan and i've come out weeks ago and the senator knows this and senator fan knows this and so do all of you across the country president fan has not been dilatory she has not been dragging her feet on this there's been a huge learning process the senators learned we've all been learning things the last 12 weeks the senator president fan is meticulous uh she does not her eyes and cross her t's and there's been a lot of eyes to dot and teased across folks i'm i'm telling you this is a maybe one day the senator we can have our show and we can tell you a bunch of things that we've learned and a lot of the dead ends we've come up against uh it's very been very frustrating it's taken a couple of makers mark and a couple of cigars should go now what do we do next i'm telling you he won't say that but i will and president she's no daisy she's no dandelion that's going to blow away you know as soon as the wind starts blowing she's talking yeah so both of you are on behalf of the people we the people you guys are holding the line and we're going to get to the bottom of this thing yeah absolutely thank you thank you now um do you have any outstanding concerns at this time either about the election process or about what we've gone through that you can share at this time i know we're gonna come public later but at this time this has been a heck of a learning curve the last 12 weeks since november 3rd the election right well uh we're just trying to get through this and unfortunately there's only so many days in the week and so many hours on the clock so and of course you know we're in legislative session so it's not just that you have just one thing to do president fans got a whole boatload of things that she's got to get trying to get accomplished and you know there's a few of us members are trying to light that load i mean we have a regular session going on right now so you know we have everybody's got their full plate but we're just trying to clean off one thing at a time so it's just gonna take time but hopefully it's like i said we're not gonna be dragging our feet with us okay senator thank you so much this is a friday and i know you're on a day off uh reading bills and doing all this preparation work so thank you for taking some time out and be with us again uh you've been just a stalwart of information and the people in milwaukee and florida and all across this nation north dakota south dakota i know i'm telling you the emails we've gotten from all over this nation uh they've gotten to know your name and president fans name and and i'll show that to you one day i'm not making this up uh they're counting on you and so are we here in arizona uh and it's a heck of a position you found yourselves in because really there's a lot riding on this so thank you so much for taking time out today and but thank you for what you're doing uh for election integrity and for bringing order to what otherwise appears to be kind of a mess at this moment in so far as the election process you know when i was in the marines you know it's we operate in chaos so i always said uh they said sonny why'd you run for the legislature right you know i haven't heard a shot not fired a shot fired anymore and god knows how long i kind of miss the chaos of the corps i think i'm gonna go into the legislature but uh you know it's an honor to serve i'm honored to be here uh you know hey it's just folks i'm honored that people have the trust and confidence and finality in me uh to take this and run with it so and we're gonna we're gonna get this done no matter what uh we're not we're not letting go i want to get to the bottom of this once and
