Hi, this is Lisa Rangel with Chameleon Resumes the Premier Executive Resume Writing Company Thank you so much for joining us today. Today we're going to talk about three things that you can do to effectively update. Your resume now is the time of year to update your resume. September is a crucial month for hiring to start happening and recruiters and companies anticipate this even in this climate, you know, we're moving into a different time of year and Under a some unprecedented circumstances obviously around the globe and it's just it's prudent to be ready for the season as well as with the current economic and health care situation that we're all facing. So let's update the resume and these are three steps that you can take that will make effectively updating your resume easy. So the first is to update the headline title that is underneath your name and contact information. Make sure you have a title. and if you do ever title then make sure you update it to reflect the job that you were going for next. If you updated your resume a year ago, two years ago, you are in a different place a year two years ago and you're most likely not going for the same type of job now. So make sure that you update that title to reflect the now new targeted job title that you're going for. The second thing that you can do to update your resume effectively is to make sure the core competencies section that is underneath that title reflects what's going on in that title? So if you know, put your title from step one to be the next level promotion you want to make sure that the summary and the core competency section that follows that title now support what that new target job is so don't just leave it the same as what you listed a year or two ago. Make sure you update the summary and the core competency section under that title. to reflect now that new target job title and the third thing that you should do to effectively update your resume is to put in your current job. And I know that sounds really obvious and almost borderline ridiculous. But you want to make sure that you're not only listing the current title. But if you've been promoted at your current employer breakout the jobs you've had at that current employer under one employer heading if you have a new job make sure that you call the information that's already on your resume to make sure to make room for the new job and then go back and make sure all of the older information is called appropriately to support now the new job title. So everything that your listing in your update efforts needs to be targeting the new job title. So any new information you're putting in any edited information. That you're whittling down and any information that you're removing should all support the new job title that you're going for, which is what we listed in step 1. So these are three steps that you can do to update your resume. So this way you're ready for the next hiring season. If you want to join me and learn all the other steps that you can do to make your resume better. I'm having a free resume training session on how to write your resume tool and six-figure. The interviews so you can sign up for that free training session through a link in the description below this video. so I hope you join me and if you like this particular video I'm going to ask you to like it.
