hi everyone in this video I'm going to show you how to reorder your skills section and the new LinkedIn layout so that the skills that show up on your profile are the skills that are really the ones that you want to stand for for the near future in your career and so from the LinkedIn homepage you'll want to go to your profile which you get to from the circle button with the me underneath it and click on view profile and this will pull up your individual profile and then once you get to your profile you'll scroll down on the page until you get to the skills section so past experience past education and you get to it a section called featured skills and endorsements and you can see on my profile I've got LinkedIn strategy and leadership as my top three skills and then you can click and see 21 more and we know from human nature that a lot of people probably aren't going to click and view 21 more they're probably just going to view your top three so what this means is that you want to make sure those top three skills are the ones that you are really the most proud of and really want to invest in and so let's imagine that one of these skills isn't really my top three and so I want to change it so what I'll do is click the pencil button and it's going to pull up all 24 of the skills that I have listed on my profile and let's imagine that I want training to be one of the skills that shows up in my top 3 from this menu you can see there's two different functions I can delete a skill and so by clicking the X button I would delete this skill and the endorsements that I have for that skill would go away or I can reorder this skill and so you want to delete any skills that you know you don't care to use anymore they aren't really working for you any clear nose for you for future positions and then any any skills that you absolutely love using want more of want to invest in should be at the top of your profile so let's imagine that I want training to be one of my top three skills I'm going to click these four lines over here and I'm just dragging this scale up to the tab and I can place it anywhere so let's say I want to place it in the number two position and let's say I want leadership to show up in the top three positions so I'm going to drag strategy down and put it in the fifth position once I've got my endorsements where I want them to be so really focused on these top three which for me now are LinkedIn training and leadership I'm going to click Save and once they save on my profile you can see under my featured skills and endorsements you'll see LinkedIn training and leadership and on your page skills and endorsements are a really great way to show the skills that you're using but also get your connections to endorse you for those skills and really by getting your connections to endorse you for those skills really adds credibility it basically says you know 88 people are endorsing me for LinkedIn knowledge 91 people are endorsing me for training and that's really great because LinkedIn offers you kind of more than a resume could offer you it offers showing the skills that you have but also showing that other people agree that you have these skills and it really offers you more credibility and so features skills and endorsements are really important part of your profile and ever so much more important and the new LinkedIn layout because like we talked about just the top three show up unless someone clicks to view more so if you have any questions about featured skills and endorsements or any other LinkedIn questions feel free to post them in the comments and I'll do my best to answer all of them thank you have a great day
