finding a donor radio for the Parts I need and removing some parts as well ah [Music] gaming youtube here we get on the same Tuesday evening I made the video earlier well it was morning then morning and afternoon I guess what I'm doing tonight is looking at a couple of things Gary mentioned something about a the case for the little radio and I I thought he was talking about what case we were putting that in but maybe he's talking about what came out of this is the one that came out of Gary and you can see it's clearly wrote written KC on there ka see why it says 637 I don't know where they come up with that but anyway it is Kroy if you look at that pretty close you can tell but anyway that that's what it looked like there was the volume and tuning for tuning in volume I can't more which way it was but whichever way it was I can tell by looking at the board I think yeah this is the tuning seat go this way like that so tuning is at the top volume is at the bottom so that's where that would it be oh I don't know if I showed you this but on this board it does list a number but I looked up that number and it couldn't find anything with that number either that fr 806 did not see anything with that so I'm assuming that that doesn't mean anything with that maybe the part number for the circuit board I guess but anyway that's that that's what it looks like a little radio there's the earphone jack there and the radio of the case itself is in pretty bad shape it sort of stays together but then again it doesn't so anyway so that's that now on to the other part pretty much leaning towards doing the am super hit receiver though I flashed a picture up I'll flash it up again and let's look at that I'll leave it up on the screen for a little while so you can see it but now the parts that they reference in there are still available from Jake our but that's in Australia unless the problem is the the parts are only like 10 bucks which is not bad for the you get the tuning capacitor the if' coils the oscillator coil and the ferrite rod antenna for that price and that's not too bad but the problem is it's a $15 shipping so that's 25 bucks there's a little bit difference in 10 so anyway that's what I'm thinking you know maybe I'm on that go I'm gonna say that as Plan B is what I'm gonna do now on plan a by the way here's another little radio this is a high wave basically the same radio if you look at it it's really close in fact I think it is exactly the same one now this I look today while I was looking and this is the one I believe is the same as the cleric on micro 8 it's got the two it's got the output transformer and the interstage transform or whatever it's called the innovating transformer it has four if's now I don't know that the cleric on had four is but this one does but this is actually probably a better radio I would think and I think this one actually does work now this is a 1/2 boat radio this is like I say it's completely front on the other one there is exactly the same shape and stuff but it's that's where the similarities kind of end on these I mean it's just basically I'd say it's the same case and stuff really close if not the same so like I said that's a that's what's that one looks like but anyway what I was getting at is why can't I take the parts out of another radio now most of these are junk now this one thought this is pretty complete here but I don't know that it works but I mean it is pretty complete I should probably check this one out see if it works but hope I did that or not now the tuning capacitor was a little bit now there it goes now it's turning now but yeah so we may we may play with that one by itself and see what it does eventually or down the line somewhere but and I have another one I have several these now these are all part of the 17 radios that I got when I bought all those that radio lot and that's those are the ones that came now this one is another say exactly like it obviously it's it's different but it's very similar to the other the case and everything but obviously the insides are different on each one which is kind of odd but now this one has the output transformer and the interstage inverting transformer whatever you call the thing this one only has three I have cans or actually two ifs and an oscillator leave the red ones oscillator I'm pretty sure that was the way it's supposed to be but anyway that's another one like the other two so I've got three of those basically very similar radios they're the Lloyds it's just a maybe a hair bit bigger than the other two but it's similar so now going and looking for another one [Music] through like I say most of the problems all have I'm having with these is the cabinet's do not work right now this one's a sanyo six transistor it would probably a fairly decent radio probably it needs a cap change I'd say but so you can see how the how bad d will kind of shaped the cabinets in it is not in very good shape at all not that it would not work because of that it would but now this one's only got three cans also so and this has a fairly decent looking output to transformer nice tuning cap and what I'm trying to do here is maybe scavenge a some of these coils and the tuning cap and the ferrite and get all the parts I need like that from a radio the same radio and make sure that they're gonna be similar though so that one's pretty much out because it's only got three let's look at another one here we got a new box solid-state twelve and not a bad looking radio seems to be working you can see that I mean the dolls moving with that's this battle what checked out probably need to get a screwdriver get this one off yeah now this one just has three it looks like that's it that's the thing I'm finding here with these radios is just the three cans and I really would like to find one with four now that high wave had four it's it's in pretty good shape I'm almost not really wanting to tear that one apart so let's go on look at another couple here now this one here in the box I think is a decent one I put that stuff I put in its own box so I'm gonna pass on that one for a while until I took these other two out see what they look like now this one here here we go I think we found our guinea pig one two three four now they do have wax on but that's not a big deal wax will melt and this one's got the two transformers on it looks like the ferrite rod antenna looks okay the now these are also looking for three and that's what these are three connectors on the I think is how they're supposed to be three connectors on the tuning cap Center ground I think is what they're looking for so I think this will be a good candidate or experiment now this is a americana again the what do you call it it's just doesn't stay on so these are this is why I'm not really gonna care about tearing one of these apart and saving $25 so I'm gonna put that over here now have one more look at over here this is a now this was a fairly North American solid-state Deluxe eight transistor this is a fairly decent radio in here it's got a crack in it or a missing spot there I think the rest of the cabinet looks pretty darn good controls seem to work yeah Tooting cap works moves we'll put it that way Oh see we take this on part alright now this one just has three so I think we have our our guinea pig pretty pretty sure about that anyway it's got the dual transformers now the what do you call it looks pretty good in this too so if I can just tear one radio apart and get all my parts I think that would be the way to do it Sol Sol Sol Sol in you I really like those looks like the did networks on it or something but not anymore so I think that's what we're gonna do is take our parts from this radio here and put the other ones back together back in here to live to fight another day most of these I could say they're the cabinets are messed up on them and I just have to put a lot of time and effort into them because of that I mean it's just kind of a waste of time to me anyway to make it work oh you know I'd be curious to see if it works but other than that I it's not a big deal to me so in you that's that [Laughter]
