what's going on guys John elder here from Kota me.com and in this video I want to talk about radio buttons with kinter and Python all right in the last video we talked about frames in this video I'm going to talk about radio buttons which is are just these sort of round buttons with text next to them they're used for forms and all kinds of other things very useful and they're a little bit trickier than some of the other widgets we've looked at in the past so we'll go ahead and take a look at that in this video but before we get started if you like this video I want to see more like it be sure to smash the like button below subscribe to the channel and be sure to check out Kodama calm or have dozens of courses with hundreds of videos that teach you to code use coupon code youtube to get twenty two dollars off membership that's all my courses videos and books for a one-time fee of just twenty seven dollars which is insanely cheap so go ahead and close this and i've created a new file I called it radio DUP I saved it into our GUI directory or we've saved all of our code in the past and this is just the basic sort of starter text that we've used in all the other courses to create just a basic you know framework with kinter so what we're gonna use is a radio button widget and to do that we just call radio button and then much like some of the other ones we've done in the past we would go route and then for the text we go equals option one and here's where it gets a little bit different we're gonna create a variable and Cantor has sort of its own variables kinter variables they're slightly different than Python variables and I'll show you exactly what the difference is in just a minute but we're going to assign a variable to each of these buttons so that we know if somebody clicks on the button that gets put into the variable so then we could take that variable and do stuff you know with it in the future based on which button or which radio button was clicked so this will make sense in just a bit so let's call this our just call it our okay I'm calling anything you want and the value let's put this as one so this is option one so when somebody clicks on that we want the value to be one because it's option one yeah you could put anything you want but we'll just do one so we're also going to need to do some other stuff to this but this will work just for now now I'm just gonna pack this on the screen usually we do two sentences or two lines of code one to create the...
