[Music] hey guys I hope you're all having a wonderful Monday morning I'm supposed to be online school right now but it's recess I was like I might as well sit down fill this video for you guys because I get so many questions asking how I became an IMG model how about scare didn't like my story behind that so I thought I may as well put it into one video I'm gonna try and make this as a short as possible but I still want to get all the information through that I can if that makes sense I don't think I worded that right anyway so I'm basically gonna be showing you guys how I got scared as an animal and how I got my contract so let's just get straight into the video okay so this all happened at the start of 2018 so I was I'm 15 right now by just 10 13 and this was on New Year's Eve so on new save my family and I like we went away to this holiday house down the coast and I remember saying to my mom who were all going through like what we wanted to change in 2018 and I just remember saying to my mom but like I just got the sudden urge that something I was like you know well I want to become a model this year I want to become a model I literally just putting this out there I literally feel like I manifested my whole modeling create into my life but I'll get into that later and he was just it came out of no because I never even thought of that before in my life and I just got this like urge to suddenly want to be it so the next thing my mom and I were having fun were just taking photos and stuff and I was like you know what why not reach out to a few agencies so I D end a few model agencies let me see if I still have them so I messaged yeah I love the messages that's crazy I am so I messaged shake model management chadwick models I'm Jay was one of them but the story behind IMG Models I was like to my mom for the longest time like the during like this whole period where I said they wanted to become a model I was like I'm I'm I'm G models was like my dream agencies cuz IMG Models is like the leading model agency in the world I was like oh hopefully when I was like 18 years old I'll get time with angels I did not ever ever ever think that it would happen at the age of 13 for me like that wasn't even like math and why are you message I'm G models and the first thought that goes through my head is well no I'm not gonna do it because like what are the chances like there's no way there's no way that would happen but I just went ahead I didn't message IMG Models but I miss his Joanie rose and she is a senior vice president of IMG Models and then I just left her a few guys I actually forgot a bad message any of these people and then a few days later I got like a few responses back from agencies and stuff but I noticed that Jenny rose from IMG Models had messaged me back and I saw the text oh let me see where they are I was like hi please check out my Instagram because I really love to be part of your agency and the next day um Jenny reply back and goes hey can you please tell me how tall you are how old you are and are you based in Sydney because I'm G has a few like branches I guess around the world and Sydney just happens to be one of them Sydney's the only one I show so I was lucky in that sense because I obviously live in Sydney and then I told her like yes I live in Sydney I'm between five eight and five nine right now I'm 510 but like I was 13 at the time and then the journey euros asked how old I am so I said I'm 13 and then I said am I too young and then Jenny replied back in said no absolutely not like you're not too young at all and she got in contact with my mum because I was a bit young in the sense that like if she need to know that like my parents were okay with this myself so she got in contact with my mum and it was very quickly actually like a week later organised to me to meet with IMG Sydney and I met with Simone and Kiki from IMG and they basically like they met up with me they took some photos of me like very natural photos like basically just like me like this me to the side and then me saying like hi my name is Lauren I'm 13 years old and then a video of me just walking up and dance they could basically see how tall I was what my walk was like because all those things obviously really necessary and at this time I was just like we got to know each other we got to discuss like what it would be like what would happen and all this stuff and then at the end of the meeting I was only like a half knee I mean but I remember so clearly going up the escalators the myth escalated or Skype in time she offers I was like like it literally looked like a movie like you know in those movies when you see there's like really like a cool industry businesses and you walk and it's or like sleek and like professional people having meetings and everyone's like but that's what it felt like but it was so cool and everyone there is so genuine like I just always watch Australia's next time on on Australian extra model everyone was always like petty and like I thought going into the modeling industry everyone like models would be competing with each other it'd be such a big like you wouldn't have any friends like everyone just being rude to you and stuff but is not like I can assure you if you want to become a model it is not like that at all is a complete opposite I have met the nicest people everyone at IMG be nice people I swear and it's honestly great like it it just makes it 10 times more fun and so much more reassuring when I walked in and everyone was just so nice so welcoming and lovely and like oh it's just good vibes I got the best vibes from that place anyway so after that meeting they were basically telling me if Simone and Kiki were telling me and my mum cuz I came with my mum this is like one day after school they basically said that they loved my look and that they would let me know what would happen because they had to send it through to Jenny Royce first to see if like they wanted to sign me and at the time because I was 13 and I was on the border of five eight I was a bit short at the time for modelling but they thought like obviously she's going to go because she's only 13 years old but then I remember I remember this day so clearly oh I remember so clearly this was how I think this was two days later I wasn't thinking about I was trying to get my mind off it everything like that because I was like Lauren again this is IMG Models I was like one of the chances that this is gonna happen to you I might be but don't get your hopes up so high but then I remember two days later I was in my kitchen and I remember I was making Nutella pancakes as I went through this phase where I was obsessed with Nutella pancakes and I remember sitting there I'm much hurt eating my Nutella pancakes and my mum got a phone call and it was from Kiki from IMG and she basically told my mom but they wanted to sign me as an IMG model and I remember my mum walks over to me after the phone call and she goes Lauren I have good news for you I was like oh my god like what is it stuff I was so excited and stuff and she goes I'm she wants to sign you and I'm not gonna lie the first thing that goes to my head is like I would just think of my telepathy cuz like okay like I didn't have a reaction really but then I remember and this is the latest I'm very like to react into things but this is the latest reaction I've ever had so I was like oh okay like that's so cool but like I wasn't it wasn't processed in my head I guess and then a weak leg this is a whole week after I found there I found out I think was only Tuesday yeah it was either cheesy because I remember it coming home from school that day the next Tuesday after that I was I was back from school I was lying in bed I took a nap and after why not I remember waking up and literally I got up I got up out of bed i've got iron deficiency from that but i got up out of bed and i remember being like what the heck like I know that conversation went through my head and I was like what the heck like I IMG Models wants to sign with me and I hit me like a week later after it happened but it was I like literally couldn't believe it I was like what the heck they want to sign with me and then it was a big deal and I ran down to my mom was like mom I'm Jim I was like I'm an IMG model and I was trying to explain to his yeah Lauren I told you that last week and that dislike wouldn't process in my mind until a week later like that's the latest direction ever it still is amazing I just I just remember that day waking up from that mat and didn't yell abetted me like what the heck like what just happened but basically after that also I have like this little notebook here in case I forget something cuz I wanna get everything yet so if I look down that's that's why so after that after I contacted Jenny rows January is that in contact with my mum it was organized for me to meet up with IMG Models I met everyone there there was so lovely there took my heart and took photos and videos of me I got a contract two days later I realized a week later it was about two weeks after this I remember I like kind of markets because they have like a little bit garage sale type of thing there and we did a guy so my family and that afternoon I had my first test shoot now I was so nervous for my first fashion shoot test shoots are basically like photo shoots but it's not for like a campaign it's not like you're getting paid for it or anything it's more like practice in a way and I had my first test shoot it was with me Rankin and I was so nervous that whole day like oh my gosh I've never been more nervous in my life but it was a good type of nose like I had butterflies because I wanted this to go so well and it was basically like nerves because I was like I couldn't believe that what I've been wanting at the start of the year had already come true a month later like that was just crazy to me but I had my first photo shoot I was so so nervous but when I got that that was literally the best moment of my life like I'm not even can you I'm not just saying this for the video I genuinely mean it I like looked at my mom halfway through the photo she and I was like this could not be going better like I just loved it like have you ever had that feeling when you do something and you're like you know what I'm meant to be here or like this just feels so right for me or you just feel so alive and you feel I think gives you so much energy like being with it it might be with a person it might be doing something you really love to do well I had never done this before in the minute that I decided at the mill I said taking my photos I started posing and stuff I got that feeling straightaway and that was the best feeling ever I literally didn't want the photo shoot and like it was so good and Mia Rankin she is a photographer she is so lovely I've only done one photo shoot with her which was the first one she was so lovely to me that it genuinely I just made me so happy like after that I got in the car with my mom and I could not stop talking about it the whole evening because I was honestly like still I wasn't shot I was like I can't believe this happened to me I was nervous all morning for this but this has been the best time and you know when like if you spent a whole day being nervous with something and it turns out to be the best thing that is the best viewing because you're like I just did that exactly I just did that that is my story of how I became and I'm to model it's honestly yeah I don't even know like I I always have goals and everyone I think always has goals that they want to achieve in the Sun every me year and I just got a sudden eyebrows like you know what Lauren I want to become a model and the fact that I said I want to become a model I was thinking like a little agency and I remember the conversation saying to my mom I'll only like probably get to some MC models when I'm like 18 years old like maybe I'm happy in the future I did not expect it to happen straight from the beginning but that is my story I hope you guys really
