last week on ibd's investing podcast arusha piers interviewed mark minervini one topic that came up was the integration of mark's trend templates into market smith it was mentioned that you can create your own custom screens based on stocks that meet the trend template criteria let me show you how you can do that within market smith on the left side choose the option that says screens alerts and notes we're going to create a new screen and you'll see right here on the top right in the center it says screen from the market smith database if we tap on that we can go into reports stocks technical and you'll see three different trend templates i'm going to shoot the five month template and it will give it just a moment and you'll notice the screen from reference will be updated so you can see there's 300 stocks that meet that trend template criteria and from this point all you need to do is make any changes to customize it however you'd like so for example i can change the composite rating to 90. i'm going to change the price to stocks over 20 and notice in the screen summary here on the right we started with 300 stocks from the template and now we're down to 129. you can view all those stocks down in the lower window i hope that's helpful
