do you have sad outdated house numbers we'll keep watching for my house number DIY tutorial this is one cheap easy update that will seriously improve your curb appeal cement lows getting the wood for the house number sign DIY that I'm gonna do and when you're doing a project for outdoors you kind of go for cedar you definitely want to go for something pressure-treated so one cheap option for this project is actually gonna be using these cedar picket fences so I'm just looking for one ticket that I can cut down to about 25 inches and that's gonna be the plaque for the house member sign so pretty easy to do and cheap these tickets are only two forty seven here are all the supplies you're going to need for your house number sign so here is a cedar picket fence this is going to be the plaque of the house number sign mine is going to be vertical orientation and I had it cut down to 25 inches because there's gonna be four five-inch numbers on there you're gonna need latex gloves a drop cloth a handheld sander of some kind or some sandpaper some stain of your choice a staining pad or an old sock and some polyurethane these are the house numbers that I'm using they're five inches in length they're in nickel color which is really pretty against a dark wooden stain or you could do the reverse you could do like a lighter wood and go with the black house number that looks really great too but they come with these screws as you can see here so you can choose if you want your house numbers to be flat against your plaque or if you want them to be raised which creates a really cool 3d effect of course I'm going to have them raised I think that looks awesome a little cheap that I have is to place your house numbers exactly how you want them and look over them making sure the distance from the top number to the top in the bottom number to the bottom are the same making sure the distance on the left side versus the distance on the right side is exactly the same and the spacing in between the numbers is also this thing make sure it just looks really good I don't measure this out I just eyeball it and make sure it looks right to me but my little hack for you is to actually push down on those little screws you're gonna create a little indents in the wood and that's gonna allow you to pre-drill your wood it's gonna make this whole thing so much easier once you've pushed all your house numbers down you're gonna have several divots that need to be pre-drilled you want to make sure you're using a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the width of the screws that come with the house...
