so far through this crisis labour have been pretty supportive of the government and boris johnson on his actions what do you make of the prime minister's six-point plan and that he's unveiled to defeat putin his six-point plan is exactly what the alliance of not just western states but increasingly international opinion is actually doing and in many ways some of our allies could reasonably turn around and say well it's all very well for you boris johnson you've got to now match some of your tough rhetoric with your own action particularly on uh humanitarian assistance on diplomacy and on sanctions and i wondered and do you echo the labour leader this morning uh kirsten who suggested that actually despite calls previously on boris johnson to resign um in the wake of partygate that actually he should be staying in position during this crisis kierstama set those to one side this morning quite rightly we're in a situation of very serious uh conflict not just in ukraine but with very serious security threats to the rest of europe but those hard underlying questions that ultimately boris johnson will have to return to answer about his law breaking about the parties in downing street the police investigations will come back but for now we must stand with other european nations and labour gives its full backing to the extent the government will stand by and support the ukrainians resistance in ukraine against the russian invasion and the toughest possible sanctions to help isolate and cut russia out of the international system now you mentioned various investigations um relation to the prime minister taking a back seat for now but i wonder should a new investigation be added to that which is um how of getting levitive got his peerage a big report in the sunny times today um on boris johnson's alleged involvement it looks like it doesn't it it calls again into question how boris johnson's friendships have perhaps been part of a reluctance we've seen in recent years for this government to take the action needed to clean up the dirty money that keeps putin in power to bring in the reforms so that we can see the shell companies that hide money laundering operations so that we can see the real ownership of much of the property that's been snapped up by oligarchs in london and elsewhere in britain and we've had to push really hard i tomorrow in the house of commons we get finally the economic crime bill legislation that was first promised in 2016 which the government's been very reluctant to introduce they will have labour's support tomorrow but we still want them as some of their own members of parliament do to go further and make this tougher still so that we can properly match what other european union countries are doing and the us is doing and increasingly in isolating putin and his russian elite other countries not normally part of...
