and before I give you the careers before I tell you what the five careers are let me tell you how I've got this information what we did is we looked at information from AARP AARP worked with an organization called burning glass technologies they also looked at US Census Bureau data and they came up with some conclusions conclusive it by my by my observation looked pretty valid and I'm telling you this because I want you to know that the information we give you is accurate I want you to feel confident that when you're listening to one of our videos when you're watching a video and we're making a recommendation we're giving you advice that can affect you that can affect your career I want you to feel comfortable and now we can you didn't know that this information is accurate so listen let's get on with the five in-demand careers that fit people over fifty okay let's look at one of these five areas and this area is really broken down into the two real titles here one here it says according to the study health diagnosis and the second one is treating practitioners and health diagnosis is obviously somebody who's going to diagnose health problems a treating practitioner will be somebody who treats illnesses now what they're saying is in the study was that many people over 50 including nurses and home health aides and physical therapists they already have a lot of the skills so a transition over to somebody who diagnoses or somebody who treats illness as a transition will be a lot easier they project that 13.8% of job postings nationwide through the next couple years 13.8% will be in this field now here's another in-demand position and this one is actually near and dear to my heart because it's in the advertising marketing promotions public relations and sales manager field that's a broad one I mean you've got five basically five cat in this field these fields according to the study will accomplish up to a four rather over two percent of odd job postings in the next couple years so if you're feel comfortable comfortable and sales in public relations in promotions and marketing or in advertising which is my background as a as a former publisher owner of a chain of business to business publications owner of a weekly newspaper that's area I feel comfortable in but what I'm saying to you though is if you have interest in those areas there's definitely opportunity for growth there's opportunity for you another in-demand position another in-demand position where people were 50 could fit right in is in the area of sales representatives people in the wholesale and manufacturing industry only a tiny percentage of people in the over 50 age range currently work in this field but according to the study over 10 percent of people have the skills to transition into a sales rep position in the manufacturer or the holes of the wholesale industry if you're one of that 10% and you're looking at sales representative position if you're looking at wholesaler manufacturing you chances are you have a lot of the skills are important another in demand position that's going to create a lot of jobs in the next couple years is in the computer occupation industry that says in the study just over 2.2 percent of over-50s currently work in these fields and they're saying 20 percent of job postings in the next couple years are going to be for the computer occupation industry and people like us people were over 50 we've got a lot of the skills that would easily transition into the new position so last but not least in my list of five in-demand positions that fit people over 50 this one is motor vehicle operators and it says here only 4% of over-50s work and is currently work in this field now but more than double that number already work in similar jobs so transitioning with a little bit of training shouldn't be too tough so people who want to get into the motor vehicle operator area there's they've got some skills maybe they were bus drivers you know maybe there were taxi drivers whatever that job experience is people have many people have the experience to make a transition into that field a lot easier for them now I've just given you a quick summary of five in-demand career opportunities that fit people over 50 and again the reason that they fit is because many people over 50 already have some of the
