just quit your job you need to be financially prepared to run this business before it starts earning money if you're employed you have to have a budget that actually accommodates for the growth of this business if you are a family person this means you have to make time for your family and also for your growing business so you need to ask yourself if you're actually ready to become a business owner the second step you need to take is you need to research the information you need to find out about starting a small baking business and choose a niche for your business by niche I mean are you going to be selling cookies to people are you gonna get into wedding cakes and celebration cakes maybe you want to go retail and start selling breads and scones you need to choose a niche once you choose an issue want you need to discover the information you need to get started in a niche this means ingredients you need the equipment you need you also need to find out the legal requirements to actually run a business in this particular third step you need to take is you need to write down a business plan and a financial budget for getting started so once you do the research and you know everything you need sit down and write everything that you require to actually start this business you need to find out the cost of ingredients cost of equipments the cost of the permits you need to get started and write it all down you also need a kind of guideline or blueprint for your business business plan is kind of a blueprint or a guideline for how you will set up your business and how it it will run so you need to write down the name hours of operation who are you going to need to help you run this business location of this business all that information should be put in this business plan of yours so make sure you write down a business plan and financial budget need to find out if you have the skills required to run this business so first you need the baking skills either you need to make sure you have the baking skills required to actually make the products you need in this niche or you need to make sure you hire a baker west appropriate skills for this particular niche the second thing you need to find out is if you have business skills required to run this business this means skills for bookkeeping and accounting do you have the sales skills or marketing skills required to run this business you have the skills required to actually manage a business and get it running successfully ask yourself if you have the skills and if you don't make sure you find out information on how to run a business you can take a course you can go online you can even watch videos like ours to discover it or to learn more skills on running your business it step you need to take is that you need to write down an action plan and actually take action an action plan is really a list of actions you need to take to get started with a timeline on when you need to do this activity so you can write down I need to save a certain amount of money by a certain time I need to buy equipment by a certain time I need to get permits by this time so just make sure you list down all the activities you need to take to actually get started on this business and then you need to actually take the action you have to save if you don't have the money you have to buy these
