The BEST Decision We Made

Laura Hardin

What do you like best?

We were previously using an all-paper hiring and on-boarding method. We switched all those documents over to Sign Now, and our whole process is so much easier and smoother. We have 7 terminals in 3 states so being all-paper was cumbersome and, frankly, silly. We've removed so much of the burden from our terminal managers so they can do what they do: manage the business.

Easy to use, increases productivity

What do you like best?

I love that I can complete signatures and documents from the phone app in addition to using my desktop. As a busy administrator, this speeds up productivity . I find the interface very easy and clear, a big win for our office. We have improved engagement with our families , and increased dramatically the amount of crucial signatures needed for our program. I have not heard any complaints that the interface is difficult or confusing, instead have heard feedback that it is easy to use. Most importantly is the ability to sign on mobile phone, this has been a game changer for us.

Digital signature church donation receipt

hi everyone good morning good afternoon wherever this might find you i'm so glad you're with us today we're going to get started in just a moment here so sit tight bye all right as we're having some more people join us if you can drop in the chat let us know we're tuning in from hi lily good morning so my name is nicole i'm with techsoup i'm tuning in from oakland california so why don't you go ahead and let me know we've got dovid from chicago we've got linda from fernano beach michelle from san antonio bakersfield campbell california seattle michigan sacramento south florida virginia beach public library all right libraries represent cool yes so many different regions represented i love it we've got all four corners um anyone from hawaii or alaska are we just a continental today cool okay well i'm going to be monitoring the chat and we're going to go through housekeeping in just a bit here so today we are on a tour of techsoup and we're going to talk about how you can access discounts donations and services once again my name is nicole jones i'm from techsoup and i'll be your host today so moving on let's cover some housekeeping here so you'll probably already notice but your line is muted but you can ask questions anytime the best place to drop your questions are in the q a portion of your zoom menu so it depends where how you have your zoom configured but it is two little message bubbles it says q a and any questions that you have really about anything whether it's technical or just about something that you heard you would like some more clarification that's the best place for you to drop that question and of course we'll be monitoring chat chat is a really great place where we have uh you know our non-profits and libraries who are talking about maybe a really interesting point or even sharing some advice sharing resources so if something reminds you of something you want to share with the rest of the group the chat is the best place to do that so you will receive an email with this presentation the recording links that we bring up and you can go back and watch anything that you might have missed and i should also say too if you're having trouble hearing or maybe you don't have the best internet connection today no worries if you go to your little microphone buttons all the way on the left hand side of your zoom menu where it says mute or unmute there is a little arrow and what you can do is go to the option switch to phone audio when you go to that switch to phone audio option it's going to bring up a prompt um for you to dial in a dial in prompt and instructions so just go ahead and follow that and sometimes that could be the best thing if audio is cutting in and out for you i would try to switch to phone audio cool okay great so thank you we really appreciate your attention and your engagement on today's webinar i know we're all juggling a lot of different things but i'm really glad you're here with us and we're excited to have you part of the techsoup community so a little bit about techsoup we're a global network bridging tech solutions and services for good uh you probably already have heard about us from our software program we've been doing it for such a long time but we're more than that we also provide hardware support trainings and free content and much more to help more than one million non-profits in over 200 countries and territories and we absolutely love to be your resource partner to help make that possible are the more than 100 corporate donors some of them who are listed here they've chosen techsoup to create and grow impactful in-kind donation programs and those donation programs are what you see covered in our non-profit tech marketplace so we have lots of different fantastic offers from our corporate donors and we're going to be discussing a lot of those today so you can check out our full marketplace at techsoup.org get hyphen product hyphen donations and we're gonna go ahead and include that in the chat so you have easy access to that and again you will get a copy of this recording and the slides and links so you can go back and visit anything that you might have missed okay so with that we're going to move on to introduction so again i'm nicole jones i produce content and online events at techsoup and we're joined although not live by aaron ford who's a client services and supervisor trainer at techsoup we do have a recording of um our demo that goes through all of the techsoup donations uh tools services things like that so we are going to be playing that so you're going to hear aaron's voice throughout that so that's why i want to still make sure that you get to know him and he's just a fantastic human being but he's not here live on the line however we do have kevin and he is from our cloud service um provider team who will be helping to answer questions in the chat so kevin is with us we're so pleased to have him he's going to be taking questions as they come up in that q a portion of your webinar so please ask them there we're also going to reserve some time at the end of today's webinar for some q a some live q a as well so do stick around and right now what i'm going to do is transition us to our video recording so i'm going to go ahead and kick things off with that again this is a recording but we're here with you live so keep your questions keep your comments coming and we'll see you on the other side for q a cheers thank you nicole for the intro um yeah so i'll be going a little bit through some of the products that we offer as well as services and courses and then passing mike back to nicole for some of our community content so uh the first thing that i'd like to show you guys how to do is to join techsoup so in order to access many things on our website we need you to join techsoup and so i'm going to um show my share my screen a little bit and um we will see a little bit about that okay so uh what you can do before you join techsoup is you can check your eligibility you're then going to describe what kind of nonprofit you are and use these drop downs to describe your organization's mission that's going to help us sort of figure out what you do because different donor partners work with different kinds of organizations and you can click check your eligibility but that's not quite as thorough as actually joining techsoup and the reason for that is is that when you join techsoup you're going to uh kind of punch your information over to uh one of our client services team members who's going to verify certain things about your uh what your nonprofit does um and they're better with those drop downs because they work with them all day long so to join techsoup what you do is here from the landing page you just click join here in the right hand corner you're first going to join as an individual and then you're going to once you confirm your email give some information about your nonprofit while you're signing up you'll be invited to subscribe for our free newsletters and that can be really useful to help you kind of learn about some of the deals that you can get um so many of you are probably already aware of this offering but for those of you who aren't we partner with several technology companies so that you can get things like zoom or slack or g suite or microsoft at a discount or some sometimes even entirely donated once you're qualified you can go to our website and browse either by company name or area of interest you just click on product catalog here you can click donor or company for company name or category for interest you can also click on hardware which is uh most of it is refurbished hardware sometimes it's also links to certain kinds of discount catalogs through some of our hardware partners we work with over 100 different technology partners i'd encourage you to just come here and browse a little bit and see what some of the things that we offer are so google is a validating partner of tech excuse and this means instead of offering their non-profit offers to members of techsoup directly through the techsoup website they offer them directly from the google website they then contract techsoup to verify that the organization's a valid non-profit and that it's eligible for google for non-profit their two most popular programs are g suite for business which is free for non-profits and google ad grants g suite is google docs google sheets etc and you can learn more about their products and sign up for a google for non-profit account here i'm sharing my screen again and here is the techsoup landing page for google for non-profits you can scroll down and you can watch a video a little bit about what is useful for uh at google for nonprofits and then you can click request a google for nonprofits account that takes you to this google page that's where you sign up you just click get started um and that's also where you can find some information about some of these programs g suite for nonprofits and google ad grants let's talk a little bit about microsoft so microsoft's another productivity software that's very popular with our techsoup members and they have a long and generous history providing donated and discounted software through techsoup we provide both on-premise software and cloud software to non-profits and let's uh let's look a little bit about what the difference is between those two things so um what we're describing here is the difference between on-premise software so software as we're traditionally used to using it and office 365 which is cloud software so that cloud software is software that you you access through online um both of those things can lead to softwares that you're installing on your computer but they're different kinds of licenses with different rules this article goes over some of the different rules and how they may be benefit for that benefit different sort of situations that you might find yourself here is a landing page for microsoft office applications so i found this by clicking on donor company and then going to microsoft nonprofit offers and then you can select the different categories and i've selected office applications this is going to be a mix of on-premise and cloud softwares but we see for on-premise we have office standard 2019 for 39 that admin fee that you see there that 39 that's collected by techsoup and it covers our operating costs the license is good for one computer and most donated products have a limit of 50 licenses every two years if you scroll down you also see we have office 365 here we see the pricing here zero to fourteen dollars per user per month for office 365 and microsoft 365 also zero dollars to start up to 22.80 per month um these uh just the cost is going to depend kind of on what comes with the license so microsoft cloud products are offered by a special team in a tech suit and the checkout process is not going to be quite the same because you see this range you don't know exactly what you're getting um until you click on this page so what you can do is you can click on the page and um there is a self-serve serve option but ideally what you're going to want when i do what i what i usually suggest is that instead you fill out an intake form so when you're logged in this page takes you to a an intake form we're able to ask some questions here's some of the breakdowns of pricing but uh if you fill out the intake form that's going to put you in direct contact with our microsoft nonprofit sales team and they're folks who are trained specifically on microsoft uh cloud sales for non-profits and let's go back to the slide nicole so the two other softwares i wanted to touch for uh productivity docusign it's another popular productivity software program it's a web-based service that allows you to upload and send documents for electronic signature there are three additions that are available through techsoup which allow you to process a different number of documents the standard edition is 89 business pro and enterprise editions involve paying a fee to tech soup which gives you access to discounted rates with docusign so you pay docusign directly after paying for the discount at techsoup information about what you'll pay can be found on the details and service costs tab of the product page and box is another isn't there's another productivity software it's an online file sharing platform it's a way to share content and collaborate and depending on the size of your team you'll need a different level of service box offers their standard product through techsoup as a donated product where you pay tech super admin fee but if you're interested in the business or enterprise levels of their product you pay taxes an admin fee for access to the discount and then pay more to box directly we try to be really clear when there are fees that are incurred with the donor partner and we do this by the product title itself will be called access to discounted rates and that implies that you are going to be paying more after you pay taxes so when comparing products like this be sure to calculate in all the costs we try our best to be transparent and those added costs are going to be described on the product page let's go to the next slide let's look a little bit of financial management and accounting software quickbooks is one of our most popular programs everybody needs accounting software and of course quickbooks and quickbooks online are the industry standards intuit gives their product to almost all organization types but your allotment is limited to one product per fiscal year so you'll need to choose carefully we carry both desktop and cloud into it products our most popular product is quickbooks online plus one year subscription five users this product is 70 a month if you pay retail but through techsoup it's 75 for the whole year then renewals are the same price adp is another partner that chooses to offer discounted rates so after requesting that product you'll be connected to their nonprofit sales team that builds a payroll plan that is reduced quite significantly from their general rates let's go to the next slide great donor management and fundraising software so grant station's our most popular donor management software and that software gives you access to a database of donors and you can filter by types of funders it's a huge rolodex a complicated rolodex of funders additionally their grant writing skills building information about how how grants work and in general a lot of help for all kinds of organizations that need funding which is almost everybody we work with the techsoup catalog offers one-year memberships for 199 dollars so that's already a great price so the the retail is 699 for the software however twice a year we also have a promotion and the offer is uh 79 dollars for a two-day period you can request the product for 79 again for an entire year of membership and if you'd like to be alerted for when this will occur sign up for product alerts newsletter so again when you're joining techsoup you can sign up for newsletters you can also do it at the bottom of our home screen you can just scroll down to the bottom of our home screen and sign up for newsletter here's there so donor perfect and little green light are two other donor management softwares and um i would suggest kind of spending a little bit of time in our fundraising section on the texas website to learn a little bit about the different elements uh with each of these softwares they have different capabilities okay let's go to the next slide and talk a little about security softwares great so we used to our biggest prop uh product for security software used to be semantic enterprise products and in august last year broadcom acquired symantec enterprise and we're working on bringing back the program but it's currently unavailable the most analogous software to that program is bitdefender it's a smaller company but it is uh incredibly useful and we get rave reviews back from our customers about it through techsoup you can equip up to 50 computers with security another program that's available as norton lifelock that used to be part of semantic but now it's its own company it's intended for smaller networks komodo is another program that can help a smaller non-profit with virus protection and we currently don't have any security program that will work for more than 50 uh endpoints or more than 50 computers so let's talk a little bit though about uh some companies that are not specifically in security but do have security bundled in so cisco and microsoft cloud products bundle security features with their other features so for example microsoft 365 plans combine enterprise security with windows upgrades and office software and our csp team can walk you through that if you fill out that intake form on the office 365 page go to the next page next slide great and so these are some collaboration softwares adobe's one of our most popular programs adobe offers acrobat and a bundle of photoshop elements and premiere elements as desktop software and then cloud softwares are offered as access to discounted rates so the creative cloud suite is particularly useful i use it myself it's literally every software that adobe makes and it's bundled together at a disc over 60 off for the first year of membership awesomenet is a software for teams to assist them in collaborating effectively i haven't used austin myself but i know nicole loves it the admin fee gets you access to 50 off their premium or business license plans zoom does not need an intro these days i don't think um but there are two versions that you can get through techsoup both are access to discounted rates so you'll pay zoom directly at 50 off their retail prices the smaller plan that we carry is for one to nine hosts and the savings aren't super high if you have just one host but if you need two or more hosts or if you use the add-ons then the savings over retail is high and then the larger plan is for 10 or more hosts and that's for business licenses so there's a little bit higher functionality with the business license the allotment for zoom is only one product per organization per year so do some research about which plan makes more sense for your organization before buying let's go to the next slide that's all i have for the catalog so let's talk now a little bit about solutions and services our courses are developed in-house by our instructional design team in partnership with subject matter expert and you don't need to be a tech suite member to access these so that's pretty awesome you can access them right away you don't need to wait for qualification like you do for the product we partner with experts that have significant expert experience to ensure that our content is relevant to your needs with a variety of free and paid courses for all skill levels one thing to note is that techsoup courses are different from techsoup webinars our courses are in-depth trainings frequently their series and they use examples specifically geared to nonprofits to help you navigate softwares and tools webinars on the other hand are free and they tend to be one-offs so nicole will talk a bit more about webinars in a few minutes but let's look now at our courses catalog so just from the tech super landing page you can see there at these uh headers up here if instead of clicking product catalog if you click on services we then click techsoup courses takes us to a landing page that describes some of the areas but if we click this and more button that takes us to the full catalog so nicole already directed you to our blog post about code codevid19 covet19 is also a primary on our courses landing page two the first thing that we see is a pivoting to remote work covet 19 response course track for non profits and this track is normally 110 but we've made it free right now so i did say that in general webinars are free in this case this course is free and it's partly because it's such a high need right now it's nine uh a series of nine courses to really help you use and a lot of these are microsoft tools um but also general uh cyber security so some really good free information and then we have course specifically for microsoft products so we see here uh we have an office 365 boot camp for non-profits this is a great place to start if you're transitioning to office 365 we have asked the experts for specific microsoft programs and um that can be really useful we also offer training for teams excel power bi powerpoint and more nonprofit data and impact measurement makeup pack some really great courses and i think what is really useful for us is that we bring together the subject matter experts but then really funnel that learning towards nonprofits we're the expert on what nonprofits need so while microsoft brings us an incredible wealth of skills on how to use their softwares we're able to sort of target that learning through use cases towards uh nonprofits specifically great and so the digital skills center we already covered that a little bit let's go to the next slide services so techsoup offers a range of services to help your nonprofit better implement and manage your technology from emergency tech support to strategic planning to fully managed i.t services our offerings are designed to meet the needs of all types of organizations so some of the things that we offer are help desk services tech implementation office 365 support and managed it and what we see with manageat that there where it says best value is that's really a lot of the other tools bundled together so you have help desk services with technology implementation and office 365 support it's going to be like a subscription so you'll pay a per user per month and then have a certain amount of helpdesk instances bundled into that etc let's talk a little bit about our office 365 services because they're popular so our services expert team will help you implement and optimize office 365. and uh email micro migration and office 365 implementation are a snap with techsoup we're going to take you through planning and migration to office 365 including removing your email from your current email service so if you need help with moving your data to the cloud or setting up online document sharing collaborations and communication and using teams we can help with that too we have a different sort of levels of support we have a cloud starter kit which is subscription to convert we have a cloud consult that's free and a great thing about our tech services in general we can do consulting for free and what that means is we can help you figure out if the product itself is useful for you before you put money down great and uh let's go to the next slide and i'll pass it over to you nicole great thanks so much aaron all right so now we're going to switch gears and we're going to talk a bit about techsoup's content community so these are free resources that we provide to nonprofits including global meetups online forums blog posts articles webinars and more in these places you'll be connected to community organizers tech experts consultants volunteers and more who have so much to contribute to the nonprofit sector and now you're a part of that community all right so here are the different ways that you can amplify your efforts with techsoup's content and community so starting with net squared go ahead and share our page here so net squared is where you can share your passion and commitment for technology and social good issues by connecting at your local netsquared meetup so those are typically in person these days of course we're meeting online and still with the whole thought and idea behind net squared it's all about gathering non-profits and activists tech leaders and funders really everyone who's interested in using technology for social change and it's led by volunteers who host free in-person events but of course like i said those are online for the time being and you can find them in over 60 cities so here's a look at our map with all the groups that are being hosted around the world so yeah you can see wherever you're located check out see where you are here on the map and if you don't see a dot for where you're located on the map well you can apply to start a new group on netsquared.org right here on this website that we are we're on and again we'll be sure to share this link um in the audience chat and in the post event email all right so next up forum so the techsoup community forums is a place where you can get expert and gear answers to your tech questions here you can discuss issues relevant to the social benefit tech sector and offer advice to others and comment on matters that are related to techsoup's programs so we want our community of nonprofits libraries and other mission-based orgs to be able to ask for advice regarding a range of technology issues so let's head on over to see just some of the topics that we cover here here we go so here's the home page of our community forums here and you'll see that we have um future topics there's uh eli eli leeds he's our community manager for all net squared so if you do decide to join net square you'll be hearing a lot from him uh and you'll see yeah again our future topic so one on remote work tools and techniques that has been a huge topic uh as you know coven 19 and shelter and place orders started to take place uh it was very important for non-profits to make sure that they had the tools they need to continue to now communicate and work with their distributed teams we have member spotlights so a really good place to start is here in the introduce yourself so if you're totally new you will have to log in to techsoup um if you're a tech student number you just go ahead through that login process and here we have introduce yourself to our community so let us know you know who you are where you're coming from what you do and and we'll respond you'll also find other people who are eager to meet you there so and we'll just head back here to future topics and yeah you can also see our recent activity if you kind of want to see what's the latest you can check on your messages and your activity as well so that's a little bit about forums now happen over to social so we are on all the channels but uh some of the main ones will you'll find us is facebook twitter linkedin instagram and here we post the latest articles from our blog we post uh when we have upcoming webinars and news related to technology for non-profits so do make sure you follow us okay and then the techsoup blog this is where we provide nonprofits and libraries news tips and other info to help you better use and understand technology so here we are and you can see a range of different topics that we discuss of course always timely always relevant um so things from building a data protection strategy at your non-profit it's a recent one uh how to broadcast a facebook event seven easy steps we also talk a lot about how kova 19 is impacting nonprofits we do lots of comparison guides uh this one in particular is on video conferencing tools so you'll really see the range of topics that we cover from operations to marketing communications social media i.t security and the list goes on so you can get announcements on when new uh blog posts are coming out by signing up for alerts definitely recommend you do that and also articles so articles are a bit different from blogs and that they are more specific around how to's so things like security or common topics that come up in our articles and how to's also we have things around business and technology planning here's one on how to use or renew your software assurance benefits we also have things on how to download and install microsoft office 2019 products requested from techsoup and what's so great um about you know having these articles is sure you can kind of see what's the latest one but if you're searching for something in particular that relates to technology and nonprofits i bet we've written an article on it we've been writing for uh our techsoup vlog and we've had lots of articles for many many years so we have an extensive library so i recommend just hop it on over to our search bar here and you can search for what you're looking for and you'll get a variety of results that come up that are related to that uh but just real quick an easy way to get to our blog um is by going right here to blog and then articles how to's or above so that's in the nav bar located under resources and forgot to mention this for forums you can find it under the community nav bar okay and then the last thing are webinars so webinars as aaron mentioned are different than techsoup courses so all of these are free and they're educational they're online uh seminars that are one-offs whereas text-to-courses are usually part of a series and these webinars are just about the tip of the iceberg on a variety of topics ranging from online fundraising cyber security social media and more so let's head on over to our webinar page where'd you go let's see you know that's okay here's an easy way just click down from resources to webinars oh and i was on it there it was right in front of my nose okay so here are some different uh webinars that you know we have coming up so you can see um we have one on faith organizations and the 2020 census connecting communities through the pandemic and beyond and so here is where you can register for upcoming ones but you're also going to see the past ones we've done and we've been doing webinars for a long time so we have an extensive library of webinars uh ranging you know as mentioned on things from fundraising training and education donor and grants management so if there's something that you have a question about or want to learn more about um you know i would definitely recommend searching for it you can try to search in just our search bar and webinars will also be populated in those responses so yeah so we do record and post all of these webinars and what's so nice too if you go to our replay section you'll see the webinar video the description and we have the slides so you can go at your own pace back through the content that you might have missed or maybe you want to revisit okay and that covers community and now just to wrap up the resources that we discussed today so you can easily access them so this is you know these are great ones to to bookmark and have at the ready and there we have it that concludes our pre-recorded techsoup tour so we are moving into live q a in just a moment here we're gonna go ahead and share my new screen there we go so this is your chance to ask questions thank you for those who have already asked questions and you know kevin is working quickly to get those answered um rather than use the chat box actually if you can please drop them into the q a panel it's where the two little message bubbles are it says q a that is where you should add your questions that will help us that will help us prioritize them just make sure that we're answering the ones that serve as many people so without a do let's go ahead and dive in um here's a good one how do we get a discount code for zoom that's from dr andrea do you want to take that one kevin yeah uh nicole um so as part of the product request process after your organization of course has has been qualified uh you will go to and through the tech suit catalog there is a 65 admin fee that will first need to be paid to text to once this has been performed an organization will receive a confirmation email as a part of the initial checkout process you will receive a secondary email that will contain that product code along with instructions on how to get set up at zoom's website and how to apply the code itself awesome thanks for that we have a question here from tani tammy apologies do you offer webinars on tax advising and topics so while we don't offer webinars specifically on tax advising we do create a lot of webinars on quickbooks books for non-profits and i will include that in the chat so yeah not necessarily on tax advising but it will help you do your taxes and we have a really great quickbooks um expert who comes on to give some some best practices let's see what this one from sandy for adobe creative cloud is there a charge other than the admin fee also is there a limit to the number of products there is not a limitation i'll work backwards um so there's not a limitation to the products themselves the admin fee will be paid to us you will then be responsible to pay adobe for the actual subscription cost um in that particular case of the creative cloud it is 19.99 per month or 237.98 for the year uh you can choose how you would like to be billed at the time that you are checking out um but please do keep in mind that it is a commitment for a subscription for one year after which that year has concluded um the discount will be slightly reduced should you continue to go forward with the subscription itself um it initially starts at a 60 discount um subsequent years then are reduced to 40 percent awesome thanks for those details and let's see here here's a question so just a note about closed captioning while we do our best to offer closed captioning on as many webinars as we can we don't have it for this one unfortunately and my my apologies however in the recording uh the link that we send out you will get to see a transcript alongside it so we're going to be sending that out within a day or two and you can read the transcript as the video recording is playing um so i know it's not an ideal solution but i just wanted to share that we had a question about closed captioning all right and kevin hoppin if you're seeing any yeah you are like dying yeah i as i see it so a question from charles computers and laptops for non-profits and volunteers um great topic um so you have a couple options here we have a refurbished hardware program in which we work with four different vendor partners to facilitate the ability to request slightly used hardware products desktops laptops that is one of the options a secondary option would be to request an affiliate discount through one of our partners such as hp dell and lenovo it works those work similar in a similar capacity to say like a access to an educational discount and that they provide a varying range of percentage off typically it starts at at least 10 percent some of the partners um it's up to 20. 25 even i think in one particular case to request that access to that discount there is no cost through techsoup you will have to go through the techsoup website to actually request that access information but there is no charge foreign access to that discount from ward um i have uh the following i tried to sign up for managed i.t and was told that it is no longer available um that's actually more that's perfect timing because the group that i'm in um i actually would process that that ticket personally um we do have managed it we have two managed i.t provider partners uh basque and tech impact um depending on what the particular um uh range of of services that you're needing will depend on where that ultimately goes um do keep in mind it is is up to and on the onus of our managed partner to to be to confirm that they can take that on there are some rare instances in which maybe they're not able to manage the full extensive workload um it may end up going migrating from one to the other um i am going to give you my email and a private answer um we can follow up with me uh and i will get the information so i can triage that for you um i have um from patti um a in regards to offering a board of directors insurance partners um i don't have any familiarity with that um as far as that goes with handling on the business end that's um not something that i'm aware of that we have any interaction with we may have a community relation um with someone in regards to that but i'll need to uh i'll need to reach out to someone uh much higher up the ladder than myself to find that out but i'm gonna shoot you my email in a private message and you can follow up with me to that uh trish uh has uh we already have office 365 adobe and quickbooks how do i get these discounts okay um there's a lot that's going on in there um i'm going to send you my email also in a private message i work directly with 365 so i can certainly help you through the majority of that process and then i can provide you some additional details on how to migrate your account and your account information uh specifically for quickbooks adobe um that i'll have to go into further detail with you about that okay okay i have um a question in regards to google uh google for nonprofit acquisition um they state that uh have that they permitted to have google with an account wondering how to access google apps for non-profits as far as the account the only relationship we have with google is that we are a validation partner so if you've already received a token and have applied that to an established g's uh g suite account um then i can provide you um a general um support number for reaching out to them but i'm not really quite sure where you are in the process i have crisis commanded so i'm going to also include my email and you can follow up with me so i can check the status uh i have from the pardon me if i don't pronounce your name corky lokita how do you check the status of a techsoup activation um i'm going to message you if this is just a general account application and the qualification of that account i can certainly look that up i'll just need some details um david is asking how do i schedule a time to discuss one-on-one my organization's needs uh you can actually do that with me um what i'm going to do is send you a private message you can reply to my email and we can work on the initial part of triaging what it is that you're doing before i can send you to one of the aforementioned consultation partners i have from raymond what is the process to add a new member within our organization to access techsoup account uh when you log into the account uh itself you go into your organization there's a feature uh to se to perform an agent invite i will send that to information to you directly via my personal email work email what is the difference between quickbooks and adp packages well i'm not having an extensive understanding of really of adp i adp just operates as my understanding is simply a payroll functionality it's discounting to that quickbooks and adp work in tandem if you wanted to use a tool a plug-in tool within a quickbooks platform quickbooks into it also has its own payroll feature so you may actually be better off just staying within the same environment quickbooks we don't offer payroll directly unfortunately that's something that you'd have to acquire directly through uh into it but um tammy i can certainly uh follow up with you um in regards to quickbooks itself scrolling down here uh jim do you offer software that will produce and deliver via email an electronic receipt for donors who make a donation via the nonprofit organization's website uh yes that is part of the donor perfect platform um it might be an integrated feature as well within city soft and little green light but i do know it's within donor perfect um so if you are on the techsoup website you can simply search for donor perfect by using the magnifying glass in the upper right corner when you're on the homepage i have from an anonymous attendee i'm not affiliated with a nonprofit but i provide pro bono technology consulting non-profits am i eligible to join tech soup as just an individual yes you are uh and first off a very big kudos to you um we need more people like you uh in this world it's awesome offering that service so what i would particularly recommend doing is that working with the organization itself um i would recommend that you begin a dialogue with them about being added as an authorized agent to the account this will provide you a full range of access to perform say ordering and provisioning for them depending on what types of products you're doing uh installation um you know using uh licensing and activation keys this will that'll give you the the right type of access to help them through to not just getting the product but making sure that it's properly installed okay i have from demilola many of the links shared aren't on techsoup nigeria do i need to register under us again if your organization is based in nigeria you will need to remain working within that environment if you do have a the organization does have a federal u.s federal tax identifier it will be able to operate within the techsoup u.s platform but if you are if you're located you're organized as a non-governmental organization in nigeria you'll need to remain working within that platform okay i have from ellen other than zoom with the org need to establish new accounts to get the techsoup discount no green light and quickbooks are two that we pay full per price for currently you will need to establish a new account with quickbooks because you're going to actually have to export your current account data information depending on the version that you're migrating from and to will determine that i'm actually going to put my general email rather than because there's this is a lot of questions which i'm super excited about i'm going to post into the general chat my email handle so if i do say overlook somebody um or um maybe i didn't clarify enough anything i absolutely welcome the emails i love following up with members uh for laquita i have g suite for nonprofits already activated already um i uh the techsoup uh token um i can check to see if the it was in fact validated the your validation tokens will actually be viewable within the provided that uh the validation did properly go through uh within the actual uh techsoup website portal itself when you log in you go into your account you connect to your organization uh within the organization it'll redirect you to the organizational portal the far right option will read validation token if you did receive one it should be accessible within there a couple people looking to set up one-on-ones like i said i will include my email information within the chat once i've rolled through it looks like i've got a couple more questions um you're welcome to reach out to me and then we can uh proceed forward uh with scheduling a time okay alice also the same def like i said i'll post it in there um richard uh the uh issue with uh the tax id registration um you can when you reach out to me you can provide me with the id that you registered with um and i can i can look up that account and then we can make some adjustments accordingly it's not uncommon um i when i was in account management it actually happens a lot it's it's a very uh confusing process so you can reach out to me and we can take care of that uh danielle is asking is it possible to create a side-by-side comparison of products and services on techsoup.org as far as a content standpoint i would i would think that'd be great um i don't work in content development but if there's something specifically that you're looking to kind of have compared to apples to apples if that's something that i can address by email i'll certainly try uh that undertaking i'll just add to that real quick we do have some blog posts that do comparisons for different products usually around digital marketing um so we do have some things and yes i think we're going to be having more and more content like that just to add on awesome and then i have uh it looks like one final question uh do you offer any web hosting or e-market discounts um web hosting we do through wix um you can check the techsoup.org website just type in wix the complete product information is listed on there i highly recommend to those that are still with us that at any time that you are referencing an item on the techsoup catalog on techsoup.org there are typically three sections contained within the product pages a description a service cost standard details and then a rules and eligibility subsection i recommend reading through all of those components typically within all of those all the general questions that one might have before requesting a product are typically addressed in there obviously the predominant one is the total cost cost structure is is almost always laid out in its full degreed what your responsibility will be as far as if there's an administration fee to us if it's a subscription-based product in most instances that you can assume that there's a secondary cost quickbooks is one of the few that does not have that secondary cost but generally speaking if there is a subscription service and the title tag reads that it is access to a discounted rate that discounted rate will be what is going to ultimately be uh paid to the vendor itself it looks like that covered everything hopefully on there for the time being uh nicole uh thank you for letting me just puff all that air out i always learn so much from you kevin when you're answering these questions and these are excellent questions thank you everyone for contributing these and just kevin for being on top of your game um and being a wealth of information so we really appreciate you so at this point it is time for us to close out and i know kevin's going to be sharing his his contact and how you can follow up with him so please keep it coming you're not in this alone we're here to help you this is this is our mission this is what we love to do it's our passion uh and we're here we're here to be with you on your journey for tech and digital digital transformation to better serve your mission so with that i'm going to close things out actually do you know what if you could share with me i'd love to see like one thing you're going to take away with you today one thing that you learned that you're eager to bring back to your organization if you can add that to the chat that would be really cool for us to see and then i will just finish saying my farewells we don't have a post event survey so don't worry about that but we just really appreciate you being part of our community and we look forward to seeing you around we hope you stay safe and take care until we see you on a future tech's week webinar or on social media and just hearing from you directly all right everyone take care thank you again kevin and thank you for stephen for assisting us on the back end we'll see you around bye-bye
