hey everybody brandon here from cad intentions and today's video is the fourth in the series where i've partnered up with draftsight to showcase some of the features uh how easy it is to switch as well as kind of operating it on a day-to-day basis i want to thank draftsight again for working with me and helping support the channel i hope you guys have enjoyed these videos definitely check out the previous three i'll put some links in the description below as well as a playlist in today's video we're going to be taking a look at a handful of my favorite kind of tips and tricks for new users making the switch or new users in general to drafting these are going to save you some time and help you get familiar with draftsight quickly and i think you guys are going to really enjoy them let's get started all right so let's get started uh first up are the commands within draftsight as i've mentioned in a previous video for the most part almost all of the commands in draftsight are going to be the same or similar to autocad this can be super helpful and is going to save you a lot of time getting in just knowing that the majority of the commands you've already learned or used in autocad are available directly within draftsight for example things like p-line are going to work right off the bat delete instead of erase but erase is also going to work for you as well as the majority of the shortcuts quick keys and alias that you're familiar with are going to work directly within draftsight for example control plus one is going to bring up the properties menu here and hitting it again control and one is going to remove it just the same as autocad one question that did come up was about design center and if you're familiar with that in autocad it is a super useful toolbar and menu and it can also be brought up by holding control and hitting 2 just the same as it can in autocad this is where you can add or copy styles layers dimensions from one drawing to another quickly and easily if you guys haven't used design center make sure you check out my video on it which you can find on the channel again hitting control and two is going to remove the design center or in this case design resources window from draftsight next up in keeping online with that is alias editing which can be accessed by right clicking and going to your drafting options that can also be accessed by using the drafting options command at the command line and then from there you can hit the plus sign here for aliases and here you can see all the different short command and command names within draftsight these can also be edited and you can also create new alias for...
